Sadly, at least 2 years, and likely 3.

Exactly Doc those excuses are no longer valid yet he still doesn't hit the big throw consistently or not throw the stupid pick. He is what he is . A package that looks like a great qb but doesn't live up to it. Far closer to Jeff George than the Mannings and Brady's of the world

Mannings? Plural?

You sure you mean this? Remember how be-all/end-all INT's are??

Jay Cutler is better than the other Brady brother too.

Didn't mean Eli but I'm almost certain that when all is said and done Eli will be remembered as a better qb than Cutler.

He's in the top 10 of many quarterback statistics. He's on pace to have 42 touchdowns (38 passing). To put that in perspective only 2 quarterbacks have done that the past 2 seasons.

Yup. This conversation is over if Cutler wins a Super Bowl ring here. The Cutler hates are wrong.

However, that also means that you put Eli and Flacco above him now.

2005.

Based off McCown's 5 starts last year he was on pace for 4,938 yards 35 TDs and 3 interceptions.

The defense has also given Cutler a lot of short fields because of turnovers. I only say this to point out that it all balances out. Cutler likely doesn't have a 4 touchdown game against San Fran without the defense serving up what they did for him.

Agreed.

Cutler has probably gotten the best field position in the NFL.

I'm not going to look it up but I'm sure I'm right. Certainly if you eliminate special teams and penalties.

I don't like to leave questions hanging out there so I looked it up.

Through Week 4, the Bears were 26th starting at their own 23.73 yard line. San Diego and Cincy were 1 and 2. NO was the worst.

Explains why Cutler has so many worthless yards. He's got more opportunities.

That wasn't anything close to what I said but alright.

The Bears are a finely tuned machine, but are essentially being held back by one player.
I'd be surprised if the defense gives up any points at all this week, and I feel like something amazing is going to happen every time the special teams units step on the field.
Cutler constantly lets the rest of them down.

So, should we fire the coaches and Emery?

No way. The Bears are on the brink of multiple championships. Just change one player and it will happen.

Yes.

Just for fun, I like stats, the 6 teams that have worse starting field position through 4 weeks were a combined 5-19. Only Pittsburgh had as many as 2 wins with worse starting field position.

I'm not responding directly to you, Rick. I'm just putting info out there for people to consume.

Are you being sarcastic?

I think it's interesting that the offense has overcome the difficulties of the special teams complete failures so effectively.

No. You make quality retorts even if I disagree.

Others don't seem interested in such things.

I'm disagreeing with Nas. He thinks that Jay Cutler is a good enough QB.

Cutler's never helped this team.

Mike Phipps led this team to the playoffs by going 9-1 with 1500 yards, 9TDs, and 8 picks.

Josh McGowan can eat the corn out of his shit.
