It was more than a nice season and he was the obvious difference maker for the team, but your analysis is still valid.

He wasn't a star. He was the equivalent of Case Keenum and Kellen Moore. He was very good and led Wisconsin to a nice season.

thats my point. he was a star and nobody thought so. he didnt magically get better in one year. the guy is doing exactly what he did in wisconsin. hes awesome

Good player but the over-the-top love for him by the sports media is annoying. He has the personality of a piece of sheetrock and spews forth safe answers to any questions. I don't care for him. Seems like a phony.

No, he seems legitimately boring. I think people just find it refreshing on a team of douchebags.

If he was taken in the third round, every team passed on him at least twice, some even 3 times. The math is not very complicated.

He was never touted as a first or second round pick.

What??? You are smarter than this.

It's true and frankly, he is quickly becoming one of the more overrated players in the game.

You are sounding like Scorehead.

Wrong. I am a huge Wilson fan. This kid makes plays & has great instincts. He could & would start on every NFL team with the obvious exceptions. I will take a player like Wilson over Cutler every day.

that's like...75% of athletes. there's 2% of them that have personality, the rest are suspected of DUI and domestic violence.

He seems like a smart kid. When you have millions on the line saying safe things and carrying yourself a certain way is the smart thing to do. Not sure why anyone would criticize that. When you get the status of a Peyton or Brady then you can/should say just about whatever you want.

The point is that every year there are 3-4 Russell Wilson's in college. Every so often one of them develops into an elite player. Pretty much every quarterback that gets drafted was awesome in college.

So all the teams that didn't take him earlier didn't miss on him?

While I agree that the media probably gives Wilson more credit than he deserves, Luck has been the object of far more unjustified affection IMO. It's like everyone's been so convinced that he was going to be a great quarterback from the start that they must reinforce the idea that he already is one again and again and again. It's not that I don't think Luck is a good quarterback or inferior to Wilson or anything like that but the notion that he's already in the same class as Brees, Rodgers, Manning, and Brady is a bit puzzling to me.

Then you are in the uncomfortable position of acknowledging Scorehead to be correct
