Some half-assed, for-profit hospital dropped the ball and what's to show for it? The fella died (was almost certain to anyway) and two nurses who had direct physical contact with the patient himself are sick at present.

Not folks that were on the plane with him, not folks that used the water fountain after him, not folks that may have been around his sister's cousin's uncle's stepmother who sneezed, but just two unfortunate, caring broads just doing their job the best they could with what they had available (which, if anything, is a scathing indictment against for-profit, commodotized healthcare, but that's an entirely different conversation).

What do they get for their good deed? Ebola. Life's swell and all, but that almost certainly doesn't mean diddly shit to you, me, or the man in the moon as far as I can tell with respect to our likelihood to contract Ebola.

Do we know every single thing that's going on or every single scenario with requisite percentages listed by them as happening? No; we're not necessarily supposed to ... in many cases it'd be giving good scotch to drunken chimps for all the good it would do.

If there was something to worry about, they'd at the very least say "look, maybe don't travel around a great deal" or something like that. Our governmental overlords don't gain much from mass panic (unwarranted or warranted) and the deaths of swaths of taxpayers by keeping secrets ... or Keeping Score for that matter.

Dr. Tom Frieden, director for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), said during a telephone press briefing Wednesday that you cannot get Ebola by sitting next to someone on a bus, but that infected or exposed persons should not ride public transportation because they could transmit the disease to someone else.

"I think there are two different parts of that equation,” he continued. “The first is, if you’re a member of the traveling public and are healthy, should you be worried that you might have gotten it by sitting next to someone? And the answer is no.”

“Second, if you are sick and you may have Ebola, should you get on a bus? And the answer to that is also no. You might become ill, you might have a problem that exposes someone around you,” he said.
