Im gonna go out on a limb here and say that the highest paid player in the NFL is slightly overpayed.

What a fucking bum.

There is a synergy that exists between offense and defense. Green Bay wasn't beating Carolina by 30 at half today because of their dominating defense. They were beating them because they have the best QB in the NFL, and he is always on rhythm. The Bears have the opposite of that. The defense is not great, and not necessarily even average, but they have played well enough to win. If they had an offense that was generally "on time," Miami probably would have scored under 20 today. The offense is so inconsistent (due to the QB) that replacing the QB would have great consequences for the rest of the team, IMO.

My son had his birthday party today.

How did the "franchise QB" look?

You get beat by 13 at home to the Dolphins? Time to start playing for that high draft pick.

Bears have never and will never do that. That being said, the search for a new QB needs to start this year.

1 pick and 1 fumble. Trestmans fault.

Rogue is always on the right side of the Cutler debate.

I'll chime in, too, to fill Matt in.

On their first drive, after a nice defensive series, the Bears had a 3 and 1, and Cutler threw it 50 yards incomplete to Jeffery. But he threw it REALLY FAR... his arm strength was on full display.

Maybe the O-line didn't give him enough time. Or the receiver ran the wrong route.

Cutler sucked.

But that's still Trestman. Run the ball.

You call that play after Forte gets the 1st down.

Agreed. I heard Waddle on the radio defending it to set up something later. You don't set up shit on 3rd and 1. Ridiculous.

Especially on first possession on your own side of field.

It was the best starting field position they had to start a game and you have one of the best RB's in the NFL. Give Forte the ball or run one of your 2 yard passing plays.

I love how it's just an automatic in some minds that the Bears get the first down with a third-and-short run.

You don't think that's a better chance than a 45-yard pass?

Most of the time I would agree, but it's been an issue that past few years with this line.

Yup. Even Mrs. Scorehead asked why they would go deep when all they need is 1 yard.

I believe the 3rd and 1 changed the game. Bernsie et al may not but we could have drove down and possessed and I will stick with that.

Reading some tweets from the Dolphins CBs. Basically every team know knows Cutler stares down his receivers and never looks CBs/Safeties off.

Unless he is able to change his ways, this will be the same song and dance for the next 5 years.

If the Bears end up 3-6 after Green Bay, Claussen needs to get some reps.

I mean, all the GM did was pay a large guaranteed sum for a LT and G, 1st rounder on a G and a 4th rounder for a short yardage back on top of having a possible HoF RB.

But you're right, why should fans assume it's something the offense should excel at.

Jay has been in the NFL for 9 years...he is what he is & he isn't changing his ways.
No way Jay lasts 5 years. 2-3 max.
I'm with you on Pickles. I want to see him in a real game.

I don't know who was worse yesterday, Trestman or Cutler.

The good Dr is doing work in this thread.

Speaking of arm strength, seems like a couple of those deep balls yesterday were under thrown...

Cutler was not good, Nas. He had a lot of help looking poor, but he did not make many plays at all.

Cutler is always terrible. Bad quarterback. Bad guy. Some people get fooled by his passing yardage or his supposed "tools". The guy is a fuckin' loser.
