As an Acura driver, I'm irked when people call it an 'Akra' ... which quickly moves to infuriating when the (I'm presuming) stroke-riddled Bob ROHRman does it in his own radio spot ...

Make sure that "a corn" doesn't fall from the sky, and hit you in the head.

I say prolly instead of probably. We all have our quirks. It seems like western Pennsylvania seems to create the most interesting of speech patterns.

There was a guy in my neighborhood, who was originally from Kentucky. He said "most probably".

This is true. They see no need to use "to be" in between anything. They also do not vacuum they sweep the carpet with a sweeper.

Fixed for Kirkwood.

Sometimes I overcompensate and hit G's at the ends of words too hard so they sound like "going-uh" at the expense of sounding like "go-een." It's a delicate balance, to be sure.

Did he also use the word "directly" to mean "when I get around to it?"

"Sweeper" is Pittsburghese for "vacuum," which is confusing because a carpet sweeper is something else.

Pittsburgh is basically Chicago with hillfolk. It's an industrial town settled by the same Slavs and Germans that came here, except they mixed with the Scotch-Irish Appalachians, yielding a dialect that's almost inscrutable.

I don't remember, but he was a backwoods redneck from Northern Kentucky, so it's possible. His parents were super-Christians, so Wheaton was an obvious choice for them.

The carpet sweeper is the biggest scam perpetrated on the American public since One Hour Martinizing.

The incorrect usage of “literally” is just out of control. I'm far from a wordsmith, but people need to just stop.

We have a rotation of financial news channels on at work. They use literally incorrectly at an insane rate

The market is literally spinning

This company literally fell of a cliff last year
