No

I would totally not suggest it, unless you know what the ultimate consequences could be.

If you're fighting for your life you would attempt to grab anything from anyone.

But we don't know if he really reached for the gun so he can shoot the officer or if he was trying to stop the officer from shooting him.

I don't think you're allowed to attack an officer either way?

Ok you got me, but I would hope I didn't put myself in that situation to begin with.

I think it's possible that the officer who reversed his car (looking for an altercation) may have threatened to shoot the kid as they were wrestling in his car and as he was going for his gun the kid was trying to stop him from getting it and got shot. After running 40 feet away (hard for a fat kid that smokes) the kid stopped because the officer threatened to shoot. When he turned around (unarmed) the officer opened fire (15 shots IIRC) and 5 struck Mike Brown.

This is true but you are allowed to try to prevent an officer from attacking you.

I've posted enough videos in the past month of officers being equal opportunity assholes and sometimes actually committing crimes that I am not willing to always take them at their word

You were perfectly clear, Hawg. Some people simply want to see what they want to see. The fact that certain posters attributed what you posted as your own personal stance is even more dumb.

Real dipshit stuff.

IDK Nas, I suppose that is right but my point is also that there should be no fighting for your life unless a dirty that came to execute you. I do not view this as that clear that a cop wanted to execute a kid no matter what. I will stick with the not grabbing for a gun and if a cop pulls it out my hands go up and I start talking fast.

That sounds great but just one look 10+ videos I and others have posted over the past month or so proves that doesn't mean you won't get shot. We have officers firing on a minivan filled with kids. One officer stomping a handcuffed woman. Another firing 5 shots at close range even though the man who was pulled over has his hands in the air the entire time. They do a lot of stupid shit.

I believe that the officer told the kids to get the fuck out of the street. When he drove off they said something stupid that he heard so he reversed his car. In a rush to get out and confront the kids his door hit them and bounced back and hit him. He was probably embarrassed by it and they probably laughed so he attacked Mike. I believe Mike fought back (probably not smart) and the officer threatened to kill him and went for his weapon. Mike tried to stop him and got shot. He took off running (not fast for a guy his size). When the officer got out the car he chased him and yelled for him to stop. The officer immediately started shooting at him 30 to 40 feet away and killed him.

If Elmhurst Steve was assaulted or shot by an officer I would be more willing to believe him until the officers proved otherwise.

I have seen the videos/posts that you have made. You also have a different historical perspective on this that I do. The statement I made was not only for this but more of a good policy that I will stick to. By the way, you call the unfortunately dead kid Mike. Others like the thread title use Michael Brown. Is that a personal feeling to you about the case or better question which is correct i.e. was Mike what his mom called etc.

Nothing personal when it comes to his name. I just have a habit at times of shortening names or passing out nicknames.

How about in Cali, when that former cop killed some cops, and was on the run? They were looking for a black male who stood 6' 3". They shot up a truck (that didn't match the description of his vehicle), with two Asian women inside.

I remember that. They eventually burned him alive. IIRC they fired about 60 shots and didn't kill anyone.

At the very least, it's a shame how cowardly our police are. They continue to show why they do not deserve praise.

This sounds like your issue, not an issue with the police forces of our nation.

Every day there are thousands of interactions between citizens and police that go down by the book. Over the course of years, there are 10+ videos that show the opposite. Overzealous and irresponsible cops.

So those 10 altercations now taint the thousands of interactions that happen daily? Those 10 videos are enough to view all cops as untrustworthy.

I've seen videos of black folks robbing stores and murdering folks. All black people rob stores and murder folks.

I'll be clear and concise: You have a problem. You need to feel like you're a member of a society that is constantly victimized. You're uncomfortable feeling like you're on the same level as everyone else because your issues and failures would then be your own and there is no one else to blame.

 The only thing that is clear is that your willful ignorance is a problem you have to deal with. You can't blame it on youth anymore. I may not be on the fast track but I challenge you to find a post of me complaining about anything in my life or not accepting personal responsibility for my mistakes. I don't have any issues with the police. I don't know anyone that has had issues with police.

Law abiding citizens seem to do alright during police interactions. I wonder why that is?

I've been pulled over too many times, and they stop by my office any time the too sensitive building alarm gets tripped after hours. But I'm not a criminal if that is what you mean from "real altercations."

You have never had a real altercation with the cops, have you?

I've been pulled over too many times, and they stop by my office any time the too sensitive building alarm gets tripped after hours. But I'm not a criminal if that is what you mean from "real altercations."

Never mind that apparently they're pulling him over inappropriately quite often ...

Who does find themselves in altercations with police, I will admit, I have never had one and hope I don't?
