You have never had your car searched illegally?

I've never once had an officer even ask to search my car. I've been pulled over before in comprising situations and never had an issue. I guess chalk it up to luck, white privledge and being a total subservient bitch when the cop begins speaking.

I don't know any law abiding citizens that have had issues with police. I mostly know law abiding citizens?

When did cops on a roadside stop, particularly state troopers, start using this move where they lean over and spread their arms on your car door/open window? I see that shit all the time now.

You know me. I'm not a law abiding citizen and I have had issues with police before, some where I was wrong and some where they were.

You don't count here. What Nas' argument is is that there is profiling and folks that are doing no wrong are getting hassled by the po-po.

I'm arguing that most of those people that have issues with the police are bringing it upon themselves. It isn't being hassled by the police if you're...you know...actually doing something wrong.

When I get pulled over for going 70 in a 55, you're damn right I'm trying to get out of it. But am I being hassled? Absolutely not. Dude is doing his job.

Yeah that's not true either though. The number isn't 10, the number is pretty much countless of where police were wrong in situations dealing with citizens.

Well no, it can be counted, we just don't know the actual count.

What do you think the percentage of altercations that 'go wrong' is at? Take a guess.

I cannot wait to chuckle.

On my only speeding ticket, I asked a police officer for a print out of the radar gun results and he offered to take me back to the police car and show me. I said, "Oh, I didn't know if I was to be provided proof of my speed" and he said "If you think you can fight this, just know we get paid to go to court and we will and you will lose". I said "Oh ok, no big deal, I'm sure I'll just pay it".

Not sure if it was a threat or not.

I have no idea. But I'm glad you think it's funny that we have no idea how many cops are abusing their power.

As a kid I have a million stories. I can recall being stopped 4 times as an adult. I got stopped in Carbondale for reversing in the middle of the street to get to a liquor store. I had 3 girls in the car so they let me go. I got stopped for driving while professionally dressed on the westside at night. They illegally searched my car and bag for drugs. It was ironic because they didn't think I was a drug dealer they thought I might be buying drugs. They let me go when they didn't find anything. I got pulled over for speeding to pick up my kids mother when she went into labor and they gave me a ticket. I got pulled over in Orland (after buying a couple bottles of wine from Cooper's hawk) for driving while black. When he walked up to the car and saw a JORR approved sports coat he told me to have a good night.

Am I wrong SomeGuy? There is a certain percentage of cops abusing their powers and even though it's high beneficial to all involved we still don't have vest cameras or any other way of knowing what that percentage is. But we got money for tanks and Bearcats!

as a frequent view of Cops, I love when the cop asks someone they just pulled over for a burnt out license plate light : "is it ok if i search your car ? "

i think as with DUI's and other stops, in the heat of the moment you may not know exactly what to do/say and 99% of the time the people say "sure, go ahead" and i cringe

I actually believe that the number of crooked cops is low. The number of asshole cops is high.

Never let them in your house, never let them search anything and have a lawyer present for dealings.
