The one thing I really hate about Jimmy Fallon's show is the REALLY FAKE laugh he does when his guest says something "funny". He really lays it on think & it's horrible. By far, it's the worst phony laugh there is.

Nope. Colbert is just as big a putz as any of them.

Colbert is the funniest guy on TV right now. Probably top 5 all-time.

The thing about comedy is, it's so subjective. Fallon isn't doing a show for a 65 year old James Pasta. He's doing a show for the 18-35 year old audience. That's why it's all "EW" "Hashtag" "Tweet" "Instagram" blah blah blah.

Jimmy, did you know there's another classic TV channel, Heroes & Icons? It's on 23.2 (don't know if it's on satellite yet). You can find Cannon on there.

Agreed

+1000

Watch his interview with Zach Gal. It's borderline uncomfortable because of Zach ' s brand of humor combined with Fallon ' fake laugh.

Fallon doesnt deserve to host an iconic show like The Tonight Show. The bar is set way too low for late night talk show hosts.

Fallon is winning the late night ratings battle though, so maybe the youngsters are tuning in.

I actually think Fallon's sidekick is decent. Seth Meyers has a little cutie for a drummer in his band.

The drummer is cute but the blond on guitar is hot, also.

Anywayyz, this is the funniest thing I've seen on late night TV in the past year:

Fallon sucks at comedy. Always has, always will.

Fallon is ok.

I like a lot of what Kimmel does

As far as Tonight Show type shows...they are evolving. The Carson-Leno-Letterman blueprint will be gone soon.

Not a fan of the Colbert, Stewart, and Oliver stuff. I get why it is supposed to be funny but I just don't laugh. Stewart and Oliver are too screamy. Colbert is just meh. I applaud their efforts but it's not working for me. I seriously laugh more at the unintentionally funny Quinn and Rauner political commercials.

Colbert to me is unfunny in the way that Prairie Home Companion is unfunny: when the subject matter is something you have to deal with on a regular basis and not just an abstraction of The Other America, it's too much to bear. I've vacillated on Jon Stewart many times in the 15 years he's been on. John Oliver is doing work.

Going back to my thoughts on Craig Ferguson from earlier, this guy has been on fire the last couple months since announcing that his show was going of the air in December. He's obviously at the point where he doesn't care at all, and it is making for great comedy. It was like Conan at the end of his Tonight Show run where he knew he was going to lose it back to Leno.

The show has been appointment TV lately, and I am going to miss Craig once he is gone. I hope some other network picks him up. He would be a perfect fit for the timeslot following Conan on TBS.

Ferguson will have a talk show on WGN.

Seriously, next fall he's going to have a 1/2 hour talk show as well as his game show.

That's a little disappointing, if true. Hopefully the 30 minutes is just him and Geoff with no guests.

You haven't heard Steve Cochran's morning show on WGN... His supporting cast beats Fallon hands down.

go figure scorehead hates colbert... i couldn't have guessed that one. the colonel said he likes colbert and scorehead had to quite his post b4 chiming in with a NUH UH. the issue is now official.

colbert's show has gone downward over the years as it got more popular/established/establishment, i can't deny that. i loved it in 06-07 when he'd touch on conspiracy theories like the one to divide the nation with a toll-based privately-owned SUPERHIGHWAY and he was freaking out about ROADS... ROADS EVERYWHERE! and stuff like that. he used to have segments that appealed towards a more "it getting" audience because right from the bat outside of the o'reilly/neocon satire he was doing stuff that appealed to a deeper audience than what the daily show was doing, but over time he's become more tame and accessible and stuff to the point where i've totally taken his show for granted in the last year or so (especially since the announcement he's going to CBS) and i know i'll miss it when it's gone.

and even in the later years the stuff he was doing with his PAC proved a point about PACs, and he went far enough with his PAC/running-for-office stuff that he had to have lawyers come in and work out the technicalities with being a viacom employee and all that. that's a lot further than the daily show goes with jon stewart mugging for the camera and then it's like TIME FOR NONSENSE WITH JASON JONES! i used to like the daily show, but as time went on and the brand of soda in power changed from red to blue i've kind of become disillusioned with outright camera-mugging/pandering/etc.

still tho, colbert does great things when, example, the #CancelColbert hashtag "goes viral" and all that so stephen responds by getting a co-founder of twitter on his show to rub it in suey park's face. he'll nail you when the situation calls for it. and while some of the stuff he does is kind of what i think CH is saying about it, there's still enough residual quality left over from the early years to the point where it's the best thing on latenight.

craig ferguson is a masterclass on how to flirt with women btw. that guy has it down. respect due.

it'll be interesting to see what colbert does with the late show, but i'm not holding my breath for the early-colbert-report greatness that i totally enjoyed circa 06-08/09. the guy broke his wrist and started a WRISTSTRONG campaign to doubly mock lance armstrong and republicans as jagoffs while his character got addicted to vicodin. i mean if there aint room for that in your latenight tv well then i feel sorry for you cuz you're missing the good stuff.
