If Maddon becomes manager does that mean we can look forward to Sam Fuld batting leadoff in 2015?

Best manager my ass.

Come on JORR, Robin Ventura is more than just "reasonably "intelligent"...

What major pieces have been changed? How many "resets" are you purporting there have been?

Two things apply here. First, Ventura has very little to do with any failures or successes of the White Sox. Second, the Sox as an organization haven't embraced the modern philosophy of numbers as God and Ventura is given free rein to manage "by gut". (There is a correlation to the Sox wasting so many of their outs.) That's something no Cub manager under Epstein is going to have. The modern manager makes very few decisions. He pushes buttons.

If/when Maddon is hired, this will be 3 different managers for one plan. I consider a manager a pretty big piece. Don't get me wrong, Maddon would be a great get but every time a ship gets a new captain the crew has to adjust. To be honest, I wish the Sox could land him. However, I think Maddon would be perfect on the North side. I hope he is signed by Theo.

I just can't wait for all the pictures of the wild and wacky road trip getups because that will never get old.

Stick with Rentaria, he's proven capable of managing this team, which is no easy feat.

It would be the third manager for the Epstein/Hoyer regime but keep in mind that this is a team that is trying to go through the stages of a complete top-to-bottom rebuilding process. Sveum and Renteria helped the Cubs go from point A to approaching B in the rebuild, and now the front office will have to determine going forward which manager is the best fit to try to direct the Cubs from point B to C.

I don't think Sveum helped anything.

That being said, I'd be content sticking with Ricky or going with Maddon. I think Renteria had a good first season.

Captain Flakey had Dave Wills on Saturday morning to discuss the matter. Wills thought Maddon would find it distasteful to be discussing a managing job that was not currently open.

What happens now if they don't hire Maddon? I will enjoy hearing the front office backflips and the questions of Renteria the first day of spring training.

How could you possibly stay with Renteria as your manager when you're so obviously dissatisfied with him?

I haven't liked the Ricky hire from day one. But in all honesty I was the biggest Lou Pinella fan ever, so what do I know.
