Where'd you hear that?

Cutler said it after the game.

Good God... what kind of operation is this?

Blame the NFL. The players get the week off because it was negotiated in the CBA.

They negotiated no meetings or practices?

They are required to provide 4 consecutive days off during a bye week, including Saturday.

The Bears are supposed to be doing what the Cowboys are doing. There offense is supposed to be great enough to hide the deficiencies they have on defense. Instead the offense has failed to score 28 points in a game after averaging 29 last year. Their failure has forced a bad defense to spend more time on the field.

The defense is even worse than last year. The offense sucks, too.

But you have to be able to get off the field every once in a while. The other team never punts...ever.

I'll bet the Bears have the fewest forced punts in the NFL.

They have to be close to last in offense and defense by most measures. That's hard to do. There might be a couple worse offenses.

We don't have to deconstruct this too much.

Everything sucks. Offense defense special teams. Don't know why the offense sucks but they do. Probably Cutler. Get a guy who can go through the progressions and make the right play, which isn't always a big play.

The run was working early on and they shifted away from it - quickly. Trestman apparently watched Lovie's Super Bowl film and took all the wrong lessons from it.

This head coach cannot wait to abandon the run. Week in and week out.

I hope Bear fans are ready for the shit teams that will be coming for quite a few years. Might be a random playoff game sprinkled in here and there but this franchise isn't winning a Super Bowl anytime soon. Of course, it's been 30 years so what does it matter.

He's the worst offensive genius of all time. OF ALL TIME.

How can that Lavell guy run slants all day but our physical specimens can't get open on a slant for weeks?

And they ran that damn screen/lateral again. Again!

Let's hope he can get his kid into the doctor next week then.

I saw the screen coming and I asked him not to run it but he didn't listen.

I really don't think he can process the game speed quickly enough as a HC. Listen to him talk. It's like he's on mescaline.

That doesn't really explain the preparation, though.

@LATimesfarmer: Tom Brady is only player in NFL history with at least 350 yards, a completion percentage above 85.0, five or more TDs and no INTs in a game.

Prior to today's game, Brady had 13 touchdowns through 7 games, an average of less than 2. Today, he would have thrown for at least 6 if he'd played the entire game.

I was surprised to see that his rating for the game was 148, less than the max possible 153. Hard to have a better game than he did...though I guess Roesthlisberger just did.

Our elite franchise QB has now played New England three times. He is 0-3, with the Bears outscored 127-36. Holy fuck.

Cutler had 3 touchdowns and a cheap interception. While he didn't do much when the game mattered the defense and Trestman are responsible for this defeat. He just refuses to make adjustments and is very predictable.

Cutler is also responsible for the defeat. He repeatedly keeps a horrible defense on the field due to his 3 and outs.

Agree about the D and Trestmen, but Cutler generated zero offense until garbage time, and had another pic wiped out due to penalty. Even the pass to Bennett over the middle -- where Bennett had about a 10-yard cushion all around him, was overthrown and required Bennett to make a leap, which of course meant limited YAC.

I agree with you. Cutler hasn't gotten the job done recently and I thought the same thing about that pass. Listening to his interviews over the past few weeks it sounds like he also has a problem with the play calling. He said as much after the Falcons game. Then Trestman told him to go fuck himself and went back to calling for 3 yard passes.
