Phil Emery really started pulling out some of this famous in house stats today to support why guys are good! J allen had 3 QB knockdowns and Lamar has the most QB touches and SHea disrupted 3 or 4 routes in week 2, kinda like last years when Shea led the team in disruptions in the backfield.

It's like he is playing in his own Fantasy football league and he makes up the stat categories as it goes along.

I understand KNOCK DOWN ON A QB, but I didnt see them knock down Brady hard enough to make him think twice about the next play. All alleged 3 times!

I don't think Emery is the problem. The #1 problem with this team is Trestman and Tucker.

You very well could be correct....and if you are, the one guy that can fix it is the problem. Emery

Yup, would take huge balls to can Tresty and most of his staff, but if thats the problem, then it has to be!

You are correct sir. Especially about Trestman.

When Lance Briggs told him he skipping a practice for the first game of the season, for a soft restaurant opening, any doubt that Tresty wasn't the right choice for coach vanished in a puff of jet smoke.

What do you think Lovie would have said?

I don't think Lance would have asked Lovie or they both would have been quiet about it. Lance has been pouting for 2 seasons. I'm kinda at the point where I say fuck his fat Lambo crashing ass. He's nothing without 54.

Trestman is not good, no excuse for him.

If you look at this as 16 one game seasons, the Bears have gone undefeated 3 times this season -- and the Patriots only managed to go undefeated once, and lost the Superbowl.

I hate those old Dolphins more than I've ever hated NE or any other team.

The worst stats are those he researched to prove Urlacher wrong. Why would you ever spend time on that bullshit? If I were his employer I'd average out his salary to a per hour basis then deduct from his paycheck all the labor time he spent on researching that stuff. That has no relevance to the team at all.

Nope. It's Cutler. Nobody has ever found a coach he can play for. Time for a new offensive coordinator and some more excuses.

Lovie wouldn't have to say anything.

Briggs and other players respecte him. They wouldn't have ever dreamed of going.

Agreed. Trestman is the substitute teacher.

Sir takes a lot on this board but he has been very vocal and out in front about calling management out on their excuses. He was even mocking Houston, who is a regular guest on his show. I'd love to see him call that guy out next week when he makes his next appearance.

Whoever decided they needed to have the frequency of press conferences is the problem, as they've become so much superfluous drivel. Good call BF, as it seems he not only makes them up as he goes along but fails to see the other stats that are far more important.

Reading from the Boston perspective they cite how the Bears are not just predictable but lacking the will to change. Cutler will throw the ball high and likes his receivers to stop and catch the ball, thus the corners jammed at the line and then covered deep. They let Marshall eat up the cushion coming out of the break and then broke on the ball. Darrelle Revis gave up "Ze ro" catches with that approach. They let Forte have the check down route but spied it heavily. On defense, wherever the Bears gave a cushion to the receiver that was where the ball would go, behind the linebackers who play too shallow. Brady had 5 incompletions on 35 attempts (an official stat, Phil) which meant the Patriots saw who was open and executed with an 85% football efficiency (my stat).

Emery needs to have more speed at the receiver position to prevent the corners from playing jam & cover.
Trestman has to understand that running the ball is the only way to make a defense adjust.
Tucker is useless as from day one his scheme is a failure.
Cutler is who he is, which is not an elite QB.

Doesnt make Tresty or Emery any better, but Jay Cutler will never win a Super Bowl

remember when Emery's stats were thought to show what progressive and deeply intelligent GM he was

Was that right before or right after the "Golden Era of Chicago GMs"? I forget.

The fact that he cited the remarkable "Cutler/Urlacher era" is hilarious in itself. Who doesn't look back fondly on all the success we had during that time? We only fired the GM, coach, and then one of the players because it was so good!

They are up there, but the #1 problem with this team are the McCaskey's and Ted Philips.
