The SNL with Jim Carrey this past weekend is one of the best ones in a long time.

It's been up and down this year, but this one was really enjoyable.

Agreed, it was really the best one in quite a while.

Carrey's stories from the wheelchair had me rolling in that Billionaire's skit.

I liked Hader's episode as well even though it was the worst rated SNL in years. That Stefon bit has really grown on me, moreso now that I understand the background on how it's written. And I love that Vietnam Puppet bit.

Agreed.

Bill Hader is one of my favorite SNL people of recent memory. I'm concerned his career won't really go anywhere though now that he is gone.

 The Vietnam puppet was pretty damn funny. The Cat in the Hat at the very end was pretty decent for
being at the end of the show.

Didnt see it, but I saw an article it was lowest rated SNL in 8 years?

That was the one prior to that.

They've done that bit at least one other time before when he was a regular. The first one was even funnier.

Hader and Carrey should have shared the stage. I see a lot of similarities, both can be hilarious.

I don't remember the puppet smoking like he did this past time. That and the flashback with his buddy had me
laughing until my eyes were tearing up.

Pretty sure she was lip syncing that. I thought her music was pretty awful.

In my opinion, it was actually the opposite. She didn't even use the helper track that many other artists use and they didn't even pump up the instrumentals to cover for it.

Most rappers sound like garbage on SNL for some reason. Even Kanye sounded weird.

Maybe you are right. I made kind of a snap judgement that there was no way she should sound that
clear with all the dancing around. I didn't listen to more than 60 seconds of it.

I'm the boards #1 Iggy Izalea fan, and she would have sounded a lot better if she was lip synching.

Bill Hader is one of my favorite recent cast members, too. The characters you guys mentioned are good, and his Vincent Price impression kills me.

The biggest drawback to the show he hosted the other week is that he brought Kristen Wiig along.

She is horrible.

Yeah, that had me fucking rolling. Some comic (probably Carolla, but could have been a guest) was talking about that show and how actual Mega rich guys are just old disgusting white guys.

Yeah, she was rapping it live. The second song...that girl doing the singing parts...she was terrible...and the helper track made it even more obvious.

I would take you to a hot air balloon and pleasure myself to completion and observe my essence fall 3,000 feet and marvel as Mother Earth accepts my seed for purchase. Then, we'd go to Applebee's to eat among the dullards.

My favorite, though, was the airline full of 250 guys named Dennis and 1 named Brian.

I watched Brian very carefully. Would he be frightened in world of Dennises while I sipped on octopus urine.

Didn't you see any of the reviews for The Skeleton Twins?
Like Will Forte (Nebraska), Hader left SNL and immediately took a dramatic role and nailed it.

P.S. - the Carrey Lincoln commercial parodies were perfect.

I am not one of those "SNL stopped being funny ____ years ago..." people - just the opposite, as I tend to not miss it, as it always gives me at least a couple of good chuckles. This season has been rather bad so far, and my wife and I shut the Carrey show off halfway through because frankly we thought it was pretty bad up to that point. Maybe the second half was good...?

What I don't understand is that they keep diluting the cast - I think right now this season's cast is the largest ever. Kate McKinnon is by far the funniest current cast member, and she has been criminally underused this season. Aidy Bryant came into her own last season, and Beck Bennett should not only be in the "main" cast, but should be doing Weekend Update (they could use a switch to a more "dry" anchor - the wiseass anchor routine that has been in place for a number of years is getting old)- Jost and Che are brutal.

What they need to do is slice about half the cast and let the rest get some damn screen time.

If you didn't like the car commercials and the Carrey Family Reunion then I don't know what skits you would ever find funny.

I thought the Paul & Phil sketch was good and loved the Billionaire one.

The Lincoln commercials were good but could have been outstanding. Carrey's impression was great. The material was only just good.

The Carrey Reunion was decent. I didn't like the music video/costume one. I've read elsewhere that it was brilliant. I didn't care for it.

Taran Killam is very good on the show. He can do a lot of things.

I didn't care for the Geoff's Halloween Store skit but I found all the others to be passable to outstanding.
I forgot completely about the office Halloween party one until I typed this and that was funny with them
dancing around the studio.

Gotta disagree there - Wiig was awesome when she was a cast member. So versatile.
