How do you know that? They had Savard start the 3rd year. Why have Savard run a training camp and open the season if he wasn't the guy?

Buster Olney had a Tampa writer with second hand knowledge that the Cubs weren't happy with many of Renteria's in-game management decisions. Clearly they are somewhat unhappy with Renteria.

When the Hawks hired Quenneville as a scout, it was coming off a good-not-great three years in Denver, capped off by a DUI after the Avs fired him. The signing was pretty under the radar, and the Hawks bought low. I mean, once word got out, I think we all knew Q was going to be the coach before long, but he was not a coach on the top of his game opting out and making clandestine deals for a coaching job.

It's hilarious that anybody would take that "report" seriously. Seems like it would have been a pretty big scoop if someone had this a few weeks ago. But somehow nobody in Chicago had this but a local Tampa writer did. Is KC Johnson the new Cubs beat guy?
