Many of the 89 losses after the trades? Some Cubs fan told me the Cubs were over .500 after the AS break because of Ricky!

What are you saying here, Frank?

Even if you were the best team in baseball, many of your losses would take place after mid July.

So, what exactly is the point?

Is this just some unverifiable anecdotal bullshit story? It certainly has that feel to it.

Well, I didn't check Sini's math, but he claimed they were 31-28 to end the season despite being outscored by 43 runs over that period. If true, that would certainly suggest great management, wouldn't it?

Only because the manager was a certified dillmunch peon. If it was an ordained great like Maddon or Girardi, it would suggest managerial genius.

I'd wager the Edwin Jackson starts near the end of the season really skewed the run differential.

I would suggest the Cub fans look for the reasons that the Cardinals and Pirates and just going to lay down in fear and let them win. I can't seem to locate that.

Then why switch managers?

Cardinals will be too afraid to drive anywhere to concentrate and the Pirates can't afford to keep their top pitchers or catcher.

the manager was a certified dillmunch peon. He was that when he was hired. He is that whether he is in comparison to Maddon or not. It was a horrible hire and now it has been corrected. They will be better off for having hired Maddon and it should start to really show by 2016. However, they are still in a tough division and are not guaranteed anything other than they hired a better manager.

Why do you keep saying that? He was always well-regarded throughout baseball and still is.

Except by the team that actually knew him and watched him manage.

I saw him manage for a season. He is ill-regarded by me, City of Fools. I don't care if he's highly regarded in baseball or in the men's room. He is a low grade, certified dillmunch peon.

No, that team loved him too. That's why the Genius running the team hired him less than one year ago. Unless you're saying Theo is a moron. I will accept that answer too. Maddon is just a shiny new toy for the children running the Cubs.

And how did he mismanage that team? By being stuck with the pile of crap Theo foisted upon him? Or did he not have enough penguin and cockatoo days?

Well, obviously they didn't love him.

But, even if they really, really liked him. They think someone else is better. The relational algebra here isn't that difficult.

It's cute to watch the Sox fans try this hard, though.

"Peon" really says it all. Who made out the lineup card? Theo. Who made the position decisions? Theo. The general manager hired a dillmunch peon to do his bidding instead of a manager who is good friends with his front office but manages instead of being managed. Now that will change.

Thats a dangerous way to judge a manager

They were outscored 28-3 in a three game series by Toronto.

Your stat is helped by that /\ huge loss

So City, was Theo the one that kept running Jackson out there? If so, I hope his general managing skills are better than his line up making skills.

People love to use averages to argue until averages don't help their argument. Then averages are suddenly dangerous.
