Dan is so full of shit when trying to differentiate Jason Kidd and Joe Madden. He tries to act as if Madden just woke up one day and said, "you know, I think I'll opt out and see what's out there". Didn't Danny even tell us that before someone like him opts out of a contract his representatives reach out through "back channels" to see what might be out there? With the speed that this Madden deal came together and the lack of rumors linking him to any other job you'd have to be an idiot to think Madden didn't know the Cubs would fire Renteria to hire him. Danny's attempts to distinguish the two is WYC worthy.

that's just the problem.... it's technically not doing that (enough) because society as a whole didn't just wake up last thursday and decide "HEY IT'S OPEN SEASON ON STRAIGHT WHITE MEN!!!!" that mindset has been slowly installed over a long long time (but really over the last 10-15 years in earnest). white men can't jump came out in, what 1991-92? in all actuality you can probably go back to the days of muhammad ali and pele to talk about when the media as a whole started embracing the whole thing where black people are superior athletes to white people, who became more and more marginalized through the 80s/90s to the point where it's totally assumed that white people are horrible athletes lacking rhythm, style, and large penises. they can't dance and that's why they're all secretly racist and oppressing everyone else, to make up for their lack of dance moves and large dicks.

the only part about that which bugs me is the part where basically instead of trying to promote a world where everyone actually likes each other and isn't (secretly) racist and bigoted towards minorities, they basically turn around and redirect/channel any and all hatred/racism/bigotry towards the majority of straight white middle class christian men as an acceptable outlet for the kind of feelings that many might (quietly) argue is just one of the nastier aspects of human nature.
