Just do something.

Pretend you care about winning.

I disagree. They should be applauded for caring about the feelings of lesser players and coaches.

Thank you, White Sox. Thank you.

You've got it wrong. The Cubs obviously care about the feelings of lesser players. They're only heartless when it comes to managers and neighbors.

Not likely.

Sox fans don't know it, but Ventura is about 3/4 of the way to sticking around for another year of 90+ losses

The Cubs become a World Series contender and immediately they start bashing the Sox. How sad.

The season ended less than 24 hours ago. Just because the Sox aren't envious and narcissitic enough to try to steal headlines from the World Series doesn't mean they don't have a plan.

Robin SHOULD be fired. At least Sox fans can admit when someone on their team needs to go. Theo has a pass to lose indefinitely. Must be nice to be a GM for a fanbase who doesn't really care about winning.

Maybe in 2015 Jose Abreu will only be marginally superior to Anthony Rizzo instead of far superior.

Robin has no business being a big league manager.

Theo only has 1 more losing season than Hahn.

Hahn should go after next year if they don't have a winning record.

Yes, and I think Hahn should be fired if the Sox don't make the playoffs this year. RPB thinks a GM needs 5 years to prove he sucks. Cub and Sox fans just view things differently. Cub fans have more... patience, I guess.

Can you please somehow come up with an analogy involving the quarterbacks of the Seattle Seahawks with this question?

Matt Hasslebeck arrogantly said we want the ball and we're going score but then threw a pick-6. Yet he wasn't fired.

Rick Hahn arrogantly said he wants to build off a successful 2012 and win another World Series but has had 2 losing seasons. Yet you want him fired.

Monster. You and FavreFan are what's wrong with America.

Seriously though, Robin should be fired this year.
Hahn should be fired next year if they don't have at least a winning record.
Jerry should sell the team to Cuban if they don't make the playoffs the year after that.

That doesn't mean Theo has had a successful Cubs run.

 Hell no it doesn't. He's been WORSE than Hahn has. He's pretty much been the worst GM in baseball the past three years. Hopefully for Cub fans he will decide to start trying soon.

My bad... I forgot that big league results don't matter for Theo because.... yeah.

Well, at least Theo is trying to do something about.

Sox seem fine with losing. All is well.

By that logic then sure, Hahn is trying also. Neither one of them are showing much of anything, but we can give them a cookie for trying.

I am comfortable with it if they add a ROY plus one additional cornerstone piece each year. This year it will be Rodon and Pablo Sandoval.

Sir said he saw Hahn at Soldier Field and he's a huge Bears fans. I wonder if he recorded every player's feelings during their exit interviews in his thoughts journal.

Hahn must carefully consider how sensitive players will react if they get replaced.

the Cubs have sucked ass for 5 straight years. The Sox for only two. They have three more years before they attempt to improve.

How much money do the White Sox have to spend (realistically) this off-season? 20M, 30M, 40M?

I was originally for signing a starting pitcher who can throw 200 IP, but not necessarily be more than a #3 type starter, but with Sale and Quintana, they have a legitimate #1 and #2 starter, and the cost of an average starter for more than 1 year is probably 10+ million unless they can figure out who the Cubs like on the cheap given their success in that department. Rodon can fill a #4 slot and Danks will likely have to be a #5. Given the offensive, bullpen and defensive issues, and the upside of Rodon to be a top of the line starter, it's hard to see them spending on starting pitching.

I don't want to spend much on the bullpen, but I think that a closer is likely to be signed and/or at least 1-2 veteran relievers.

I don't mind keeping Viciedo as a full time DH, but I think the Sox are done with him. Given that he has become a 20+ HR hitter in a league where HR's are a premium, I'd like to think the Sox can get a usable part for him at least.

3B, DH and OF are the 3 obvious holes assuming Flowers is back at C and Ramirez remains at SS.

All holes won't be addressed in one off-season, and the Sox have to be caeful to avoid throwing money at older free agents (V.Martinez), but addressing 2 or 3 spots plus getting value from Rodon and/or some improvement from Danks next season can put the Sox into AL Central contention next season.

Way too soon

GM needs 4-5 years at least. Let the guy draft and bring some players through at least.
