This notion always makes me laugh as we've heard it about Dusty and Lou, etc. Taking its basic premise, Maddon wins the WS with the Cub and is eating at Gibsons 3 months later . Is some table full of backward cap wearing bros supposed to stand up and yell " you da man Joe" call the waiter over and say hey man his meal is on me. Is it implied the restauranteur will comp him? A guy making 5 million plus a year? Its utterly ridiculous. Has anyone here ever run into anyone famous out and about and bought their meals \ drinks for them? Closest I came to something like that was running into Buzz Killman at Martyrs or Orphans(cant remember which) and we did a shot of tequila. I think I paid but can't be sure.

'85 Bears says that this premise is true though.

Lots of guys with good paying jobs around this city off of one season.

It's just an expression and 85 Bears are pretty close to reality.

I'd be willing to bet that Cap Boso can hit up any joint in the city and gets at least 15% off any meal of his choosing.

Is the WS winning manager for the Cubs become bigger than Ditka?

I could see a Maddon's Steakhouse.

But more importantly...Willis Tower becomes Epstein Tower.

Keith Van Horne and I had quite a few drinks in the very spot where CSFMB later had its Nugget Challenge

He paid for all the drinks

He was still huge. Didn't shrink like Thayer. I just went up and said I was a fan and we talked football and moonshine for a while
