Depends if he followed the GM's plan.

I do believe Trestman and Emery are on the same page of the wrong book!

Yeah, I can't stand when people use this excuse. The Bears defense has been old and in obvious decline for several years. Everyone knew it but the Bears. It brings back bad memories of Jim Hendry lamenting the latest Kerry Wood injury, when everyone knew injuries were VERY likely for him.

Sad but true. And if they win particularly convincingly, Scorehead will be back to a Trestman avatar and some post like "if they win the rest of their division games, they can make the playoffs at 10-6! BEARSSSS!!!"

It's hard to think of a bigger "if." But then again, Miami beat San Diego 37-0.

Bears will not win Sunday. They will also not win more than three games from here on out.

This team is a big steaming pile of shit.

Not sad, and not true.

There were doubts about him from the start.

Urlacher having to go was the first clue that his leadership abilities may have been wanting.

Packers are bum slayers and have been since the 2010 SB win. Soft as shit defense led by just-a-guy number 5 pick AJ Hawk and the overrated Clay Matthews. Wouldn't be surprised to see the Bears win. Run the ball right at them all night. Trestman might be too smart to do something so basic.

When Prediction machine put a 7.2 WINS on the Bears this year and had them as the best bet for an UNDER in total wins, they stated one major reeason was injuries. While Paul named Briggs and Tillman, he added Jennings age and size, he then added Allen, Dj Williams and I think at that time ahd the Safety they cut who everyone thought would be there + K Hayden.

The injury factor was HIGHLY expected.

During that time, they may lose Marshall, Bushrod and Forte, so they will be trying to fix the offense after the defense is more stable.
But this is why the Trestman hire was so bad. Even though everyone knew the defense's decline was impending, the Bears were coming off a 10-6 season and looked capable of winning right away. Given that, it should have been far and away the most attractive coaching position in the league, yet Emery pursued a coach literally no other team was even looking at. If Emery does get to hire another coach, whoever it is likely will be Trestman quality too, but that will be more determined by how unappealing the Bears' long term future looks rather than by choice.

Here is the problem though.

Emery seemingly did not realize the team was bad because he has gone all in on winning every year including this one. If this team was lacking talent then Emery did not know which may be the most alarming thing.

Trestman seems to use the word "compliant" a lot...like he is referring to slaves.

It will take more than 1 win for me to jump back on the Trestman bandwagon.

How different would this Bears team look if Arians were the head coach? After reading all that has been written about him recently, I cant believe so many teams passed on him. He would have been the perfect fit for the Bears.

Trestman is done. Everyone can see that his style just isn't right for the NFL. There are going to be some hilarious stories of him once he is gone.

He's basically the boss from Dilbert.

Hah! Yes. He's a walking, talking Franklin-Covey book.

The problem is, he still fits the same larger personality profile that Lovie and Jauron fit: stoic, thoughtful, polite guys who only speak in their inside voices. I mean, no one ever confused Lovie Smith with the great thinkers of our time, and Jauron never read from a corporate self-help book, but they weren't meatheads. Bears fans want a meathead coach, but I don't think they're ever going to get one because the McCaskeys want everyone to be nice and genteel, as if they're in any business in the world but football.

Lovie and Jauron were loud and heard by their players when they needed to be. And that was always true on Sunday.

How loud was Lovie when the Patriots dismantled his Bear team a few years ago?

Louder than Tresty was when it happened to him.

OHHHHH, GOOD FOR YOOOU. The Browns are an NFL team in the same strictly nominal sense that the Oilers are an NHL team.

I can't disagree with the comments about Emery. I am just saying that I would be willing to give him more time than I would to Trestman. Before the crazy Cutler contract, I thought the move was smart. Now it looks a lot worse.
