This is exciting news for those of us who enjoy Dylan. I often wondered if this day would ever come. I was also excited
to hear that the next Bootleg Series project is going to tackle the Blood On The Tracks unreleased and alternate take
stuff. I have all but one of the Bootleg Series discs and they are very well done and pretty fascinating. Being a very
big fan of The Band as well, this upcoming release should really be something special and a nice piece to my sizeable
Dylan library.

NPR is streaming 12 tracks off the boxed set. I am listening right now with a big smile on my face.
This is pretty incredible stuff if you are any kind of Dylan fan.

Oh, he's been doing that for about 30 years.

I'm definitely not a superfan like T-Bone is, but I dig Dylan.
I grew up with his "Christian" albums, and I really loved Oh Mercy.
My best friend's dad was my dentist when I was a kid, and he was WAY into music,
Dylan being one of his faves, so I heard it all the time growing up.

Cant stop thinking about the Pawn Stars episode when Rick asked chum to take an album to Bob Dylan and get in signed, as it makes it more valuable and Chum came back with....

Image

And he had it signed to himself..."awesome"

"time out of mind" and "love and theft" are great albums too. i still think his best will always be "blood on the tracks".

Love and Theft and Time Out of Mind were both very solid albums. All of this stuff he has
been releasing in his Bootleg Series has been outstanding. Outtakes, Demos and live
performances from different stages in his career. It has all been restored very well and
the packaging and story behind the music has been intriguing... at least to me it has.

It's Blonde on Blonde, don't be silly.

Got this in the mail yesterday. Going to be listening off and on all day today. So far I have been
happy with the first disc and the book and liner notes that come with the 6 discs are impressive.
Some great photos.

Both are good selections. Highway 61 Revisited is in the team photo.

Boom, that's my favorite. Pure genius.

Yeah, that's next on the list for me. Freewheelin' and Blood on the Tracks would be #3, who knows.

The fact that he recorded and released Bringing It All Back Home, Highway 61 Revisited and Blonde on Blonde in the
span of 18 months is pretty amazing. He's got some great stuff in there.

Highway 61 is all killer, no filler. Blonde on Blonde suffers from the double album curse, though not as badly as some others. Just to put on and listen to, but not to assess in terms of genius or relevance, I'd take everything pre-Highway 61 over everything after it. Times They Are A-Changin, Freeewheelin', Bringing it All Back Home. Most of that is just put it on and leave it on, no skipping, for me.

I'm about 3/4 through disc 4 and there are a lot more gems on here than I was expecting. Disc 3 and 4
have multiple takes of songs off the Basement Tapes that were released back in 1975 two and sometimes
3 takes of a song each done differently is interesting but kind of a tedious listen. The quality of the recordings
have been surprisingly good thus far. From what I have read there is a lot less quality and a bunch of throw
away stuff on the last disc so not sure how I will react to that. Looking at the 2 disc CD that the casual
Dylan fan would likely get, it would be a solid buy, but I am starting to really appreciate the fact that I
splurged for the full 6 disc treatment. There are a number of gems on the complete release that they
don't give you on the abbreviated 2 disc set. Some of the standouts for me have been:

Edge of the Ocean
I Forgot to Remember to Forget
Joshua Gone Barbados
People Get Ready ( cover of a Curtis Mayfield (The Impressions) song - a nice treat here )

I agree.

My top 3 Dylan albums are:

1)Highway 61
2)Bringing It All Back Home
3)Freewheelin'

Highway 61 and Bringing It All Back Home are almost interchangeable to me and display a shocking level of genius. Listening to them is like reading As I Lay Dying or Invisible Man for the first time. You almost can't believe what you're hearing.

Finally wrapping this final disc this morning. It has been a real joy to listen to this the first run through.
138 new songs are a lot to take in. Overall I am happy with the investment. A very unique look into
two of my favorite musical groups at the same time. Some really unique music on here and overall
the quality was much better than I expected. The work they have done with this Bootleg Series of
music has been superb. I own all but one of them and they have all been just outstanding. I look
forward to hearing the outakes from the Blood On The Tracks sessions which is what they are
working on next.

The Band is his back up band and provide some vocals on this boxed set. Anyone interested in
burning this set or any of my other 50+ Dylan cds can pm me and I can work something out with
you.

Highway 61 would be such a different and perhaps even better album had Tom Wilson stuck around.

I'm curious what you would have liked to see changed on that album.

The producer. He also worked with Simon & Garfunkel and Frank Zappa. Big name.
