An hour ago from Art:

I'm about to say a few things I can't believe have to be explained in a rational world. I observed that Cari Champion was a gorgeous lady. I then thought it would be funny to tweet JOKES about that observation. A decision which might be the end of modern comedy. I would rather load trucks for a living then ever apologize to one of these awful PC groups ruining the country. So that's a NO. But if it upset the lady in question that's another story. Let me say to Cari Champion if this hurt u in any way I'm sorry. I'm a comedian. Sometimes I'm funny! For the record my moms disgusted w the tweets. But if I based my humor on my mom I'd be broke.
They're now telling me I can't appear on @Midnight tonight cause of the pressure they're getting from these groups. But who cares. I love the show & it's my living but who cares. These groups have won again. All I care about is Cari Champion. Truly. But I'm sure you'll be ok. You're gorgeous & talented. I hope that didn't offend u. To the PC army. Congrats! U won again! Gluten free cake! I've been asked not to appear on @midnight & uve ruined any chance I had at dating Cari Champion (That was a joke).
I'm not racist. I don't hate women. And to u PC groups that did this I wanna be clear. Go FUCK yourselves! Now get back to saving the world. Done. Peace.

Maybe if I heard him say the things in the context of a stand up bit I would find it funny. That being said it just came off as creepy and weird at best.

Artie is a guy who has no problem referring to other comedians as hacks. This was a hacky attempt at humor.

Now, if Tom Brokaw or President Obama tweeted that, different story. Why can't people get this?
There is still a fine line in comedy. You can get away with things if done correctly. This clearly was not.

Saying "I'm a comedian" isn't an excuse to do or say anything you want.

actually being a comedian (or an american) does give you an excuse to say whatever you want. of course there are rules to what you can do, but to lump the two together makes you an idiot

I mean, I've had the "Sex with a slave" fantasy. But I guess mine isn't as controversial as Artie's.

to be fair at first i thought it was a BDSM joke and then only realized the slavery angle when people were in an uproar over it and i was like "oh yeah, cari champion is black"

idk, call me some sort of racist but like.... seeing as there haven't been black slaves for ~130 years or whatever and there haven't been any in my entire lifetime, idk, i guess i just don't automatically think "black people" when i think of "slaves." lord knows there's plenty of people in society who will find immediate incorrigible fault in that and blame it on my white privilege. c'est la vie, no?

The black slavery thing is all about white guilt and the fact that it happened in the country we live in. If I made a joke about fucking a dead jew fresh out of the gas chamber, some people will bitch, but most wouldn't bat an eye. If I did that in Germany, oh boy, not cool. It's okay to make fun of and even tear into all the other races in this country but black people are off limits for the most part.

The Artie jokes were just weird and bad.

Who gives a flying fuck if Artie posted a few tasteless "jokes" on Twitter?

Reinsdorf has greatly enlarged his fortune by siphoning off millions of dollars--for more than two decades--from the public treasury.

Which is worse?

Yes.

He was probably cancelled for not being funny.

The thing is though that these weren't even necessarily jokes. They were made by a man who makes jokes for a living but that doesn't mean everything he said was a joke.

If he had said this in person to her would it have been fine just because he is a comedian?

Have you seen his act? He's got a twelve-minute bit about Ovaltine. He's a punk, a patsy, a hack.

He wouldn't see her in person, unless she was delivering some Chicken Parmesan to his apartment.

She has her days but in general I don't think she is attractive. If my father was alive he would agree.

I was shocked by that picture. I didn't think she could possibly photograph that well.

I hadn't thought her to be mannish before, but given how she normally looks you're not that far off.

I just find it funny that other ESPN women (Michelle Beadle in particular) who seem to live for Twitter have remained fairly silent on the matter.

Might be a media ploy by the Baby Gorilla. I know he is allegedly starting up a podcast in a few weeks. Laughably, he wants to charge money for it. I'd be stunned if he did more than a handful of episodes. He had a sweet gig with DIRECTV ($500K/yr) but was such a lazy prick that they finally cut him loose. Artie's very similar to Boers. Both are still cashing checks based upon work from a decade ago. Gah bless.

I was just watching an interview she had with Cam Newton when he was in college. He answered one of her questions by saying "No sir". I almost died laughing.
