For those who don't dabble in the B&B section I posted a thread about Bernstein going off on a caller today for asking how they were doing .

In a Mac LIKE RANT Bernstien screamed at the caller AFTER ASKING , How you guys doing..... "WERE FINE, WEVE BEEN FINE AND WERE GOING TO BE FINE and that goes for any of you who are calling in"! The caller , said nicely, 'I was just trying to be polite Dan...No repsone for Bernsie.

My question to Mac is , Did you and Bernsie discuss this on the plane? I've never heard him get pissed like that so I figured Mac put a bug in his ear. You can get JERKED OFF by the "Hello game" with Bersnie, but don't ask how he's doing.

I don't usually listen to B&B but I happen to hear this call. Bernstien was a tool to the caller (what else is new?). All the host needs to do is reply "Good Joe" or "Good Dolphin". Who care that it takes 5 seconds of their precious air time. Hosts need to get over themselves. Bernstien just wasted more air time and proved that he's a bigger ass he was previously.

If they want to save on air time they need to get rid of George OffMen. That guy's position is to just report the news. He makes my skin crawl every time he inserts his opinion into his reporting. I don't care was OffMan thinks, never have never will.

Something I have wondered for a long time...did someone once tell Offman that it's an endearing quality to laugh and talk at the same time? It seems like he takes ANY excuse to do this, and it sounds completely phony.

That little Ms. Hathaway-looking twit has always been useless, IMHO.

I get it Mac, but seriously do you really think you are going to change the 20+ year-old habits of talk show callers?

I think the answer is YES, WR.

Over the course of a show's lifetime, it becomes known for certain things. People who call into a show are a bit cultish - they are usually the most active listners and only represent a very small percentage of the actual listening audience.
This group can be affected to change. You can hear it already when guys call in and say, "How's it g. . . just kidding."

That's what I initially thought, but I thought it was supposed to be funny so figured that couldn't be it.
That's one of the many reasons I don't listen to B&B...of course, if that's the worst thing they did I might listen. But it's not.
B&B + huge pile of shit radio = MATCH

Ryan did you ask how they were on purpose?

And did I miss something? I've never thought of Urlacher as personable or friendly. That interview sounded the same as all the others he has done.

Yea, I totally f'ed up and asked how they were doing. I did not do it on purpose. I hope the guys didn't think I did that to be an ass. I couldn't believe those were the first words out of my mouth. I felt like a complete idiot. Pretty embarrassing and I wasn't even on hold that long. I was hoping no one from here would have noticed.

As for Urlacher he did sound dickish, but the questions were all closed ended with no follow up open ended questions. Those reporters were being stupid. It's as if they were purposely trying to get him to be short. All the questions were like:

"Do you feel like this game is important?"
Yes

"Is something irritating you?"
No

"Do you think you are being short because you are mad at us?"
No.

Hey jackass reporters, here's an idea. Ask Why? Ask what? These guys were soooo lazy with their questioning that they expect him to say yes or no and then give them three or four more lines to work with. That's just lazy questioning. Urlacher probably was going to sound like a jerk either way, but I'd be annoyed with stupid questions that only deserve one word answers. Those guys were being lazy and I thought they came off as smug as Urlacher.

I heard you ask them how they were doin too. Hilarious. Now that I know that it wasn't a mistake it adds even more ammo to the argument that most people just say "how's it goin" as a reaction.

Agreed. Although when I called in last week I made it point not to ask them how they were doing (it was my first time calling in and I was nervous). Of course I spoke so fast that they wouldn't have been able to answer me if I would have asked them  .
