you lot wanna talk about miserable people relating to customer service, look no further than the DSHA (link cards, food stamps, "cash benefits" which i think is welfare, etc etc) where HOLY SHIT they make the workers @ the hotel 26th-n-california look like go-getters in terms of their motivation/pep/zeal to embrace the immortal words of larry the cable guy and GIT-R-DONE.
today i was chatting up a latina firecracker of a lady, and i stress the latina part because HOLY SHIT she was bitching about THE FOREIGNERS and THE MEXICANS who pull up and hop out of lexuses to come in and NO HABLA INGLES and sandbag like they don't know the language so they end up getting to go through must shorter lines and etc because they have to deal with people specially qualified to deal with the ESL demographic, and since that person is put aside to exclusively deal with ESL people they get lumped in with the disabled and/or otherwise disadvantaged in going right in front of the slovenly masses (who often find out that the system changed last month and now you have to get a # after you've waited in line for 15-60mins and then it's like OH LOL YOU NEED TO GO GET A # and then it's like WTF?!?!? and security (in the form of a ~300lb lady and a guy who would likely do well to be called a cuckold) peps up like DO WE HAVE A TROUBLEMAKER?!?!?!
but yeah this lady was on a conversational rampage today (security had reminded her and someone else that "ONE MORE OUTBURST LIKE THAT AND YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO LEAVE!" met by a retort of "I'M NOT TALKING TO YOU BITCH!!!" and etc) going on and on about THE FOREIGNERS and how if you don't have a green card you go right to the front of the line, and of course this is to collect your wad of SNAP benefits after popping out of the lexus meanwhile her daughter, WHO IS A NATURALIZED CITIZEN BORN IN AMERICA THANK YOU (i guess she's been here for ~40yrs WORKING AND PAYING TAXES SO EVERYONE CAN TAKE FROM [HER]) isn't eligible for SNAP benefits (because she makes X amount of $$$) even tho she's a CITIZEN and a WORKING SINGLE MOTHER WHO PAYS HER TAXES
and yeah, i likely did everyone there a favor by channeling her rage and directing it towards conversation with me, and when she was getting very personal in ripping apart all the people who worked there (some seated no further than 10ft behind us @ their posts) i had to be diplomatic in saying that i don't fault anyone individually as they're all trying to do their job and keep in mind that the flipside of what we're experiencing is that every single day these people gotta deal with tens to hundreds of people like us who 1) don't wanna be there and 2) are stuck waiting in a bureaucratic clusterfuck of ??? and inconvenience-at-best (because incompetence is a big deal over there) so we're all kinds of WTF when, example, in the last month they changed the whole setup of how the system/process works to getting a card with a non-electronic # on it and waiting for the people at the desk to call your # to go up there and say who you are and what you're there for (which is great if you've got a scheduled appointment at 1030 and you get there at 945 and you gotta wait behind 60 people just to say HEY I'M HERE FOR MY 1030, but then again the appointment time is more of a guideline than, say, an appointment. hopefully you dont work nearby and figure because you had a 1130 appointment you could take an early lunch and knock it out. heh)
so yeah basically, man, even after some DMVs have closed to consolidate multiple locations and create some kind of a special clusterfuck of apathetic bureaucracy gone wild.... they still pale in comparison to having to go to DHSA and dealing with the cheery people there to get their foodstamps/welfare/benefits/whatever. i mean let's be real here when you're over there you're dealing with some WINNERS in the first place because only the best and brightest need to go and get on the dole from uncle sam, but still once you get past the whole "we're dealing with the dregs of society" aspect you get to this unrivaled clusterfuck of ?????? cuz i have no fucking idea how you can have a certain system of doing things @ the place for presumably years, if not decades, and then last month switch everything up to a mandatory "get a # when you come in" system and yet HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ON THE DOORS, WALLS, OR ANYTHING THAT SAYS YOU HAVE TO GET A #.... so unless you're relatively-clever and notice that a whole bunch of people around you have a # and "am i supposed to have one of those?" you're going to get that rude awakening once you go through the line in 5-45 minutes that "OMFG I NEED A #" which of course begs the question WHY THE FUCK IS THERE A LINE IF YOU NEED TO GET A #? WHAT ARE THEY WAITING FOR IF YOU TECHNICALLY HAVE TO WAIT FOR YOUR # TO GET CALLED? WHY DIDNT ANYONE WHO WORKED THERE TELL ME THIS, ESPECIALLY THE LADY WHO'S LITTLE DESK IS RIGHT NEXT TO THE ENTRANCE AND SHE HAS THE #S YOU HAVE TO GET, WHY DIDNT SHE NOTICE PEOPLE WALKING IN, GETTING IN LINE NO LESS THAN 3-5FT FROM HER AND SAY "HEY YOU GUYS NEED TO GET A #, ITS A NEW THING HERE" ????)
AH WELL, as my TL;DR can tell you that place is beyond frustrating.... and yeah this is technically a tangent here since this is miserable facebook people, but seeing the last post about comcast support pissing them off i figured if i got at least 2/3 words in the topic covered in the subject matter of my post i'm 66% to being a decent poster.... and since most of you lot are undoubtedly good quality people who work hard and therefore never have to receive any sort of benefits from the state you'll never have to deal with this part of society that could likely be described as one of dante's rings of hell from either the divine comedy or inferno or where he wrote about the slow descent to hell.
un/fortunately for everyone, i am here to take on these experiences and dutifully report about them SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO. and i'm still alive after what was actually a good-for-DHSA run of ~1.5hrs. and now i get to see if this new spiffy credit card type card which claims it's such a special snowflake you can't put it near any other IDs, credit cards, cellphones, bus cards, bank cards, or etc at risk of demagnitization.... AHEM. i get to see if this thing works. chocolate milk likely to ensue.
