Only Dan would refer to the Lusitania instead of Titanic.

What the fuck are B&B doing their shitty version of MST3K over these press conferences? It's about the dumbest fucking thing to waste time on your show airing a press conference just so you can both yell over it to the point where you can't hear any of what you're yelling about.

"Accountability to being on time," which is why they start the press conference 30 minutes late.

They should've taken that clock from Lombardi way before they left I guess.

hey this is a welcome thing to most! when b&b was good/better they used to play drops and riff the shit out of the press conferences, but that was a goff/abbatacola produced show before the REALLY. SMART. PEOPLE. era. they used to revel in the dipshittedness of the bears like that.

so hey even tho it wasnt as fun as creative drops, it still was a step in the right direction!

I was just about to post the same thing. Trestman is spouting nonsense and they're rightfully calling BS on it. The problem is when they won't interrupt and go back to accepting the same kind pap when it's being spouted by those who haven't been removed from the Very Smart Circle yet.

Not to get all Bernstein-y and demand the reporters ask something, but it would've been interesting to hear Trestman be confronted with defining what 'accountability' means when no coaching staff or personnel changes are going to be made.

Come on. Who is he writing for?

I've never met anyone in my life that would want to read that sentence.

"Plaintive wails" was the moment I knew Señor was gonna get it here.

FULL DISCLOSURE - I originally read that as "plaintive walls". I need to get my prescription checked.

My objection still stands.

It's a bit baroque.

And on cue, he breaks into the 'this all went bad when Marshall had a press conference'.

Dan just loves his opportunities to bash Marshall and lay all the blame there.

By all accounts, Marshall was the only one giving any sort of effort last night.

I've done a complete 180 (540?) on Marshall. He seems like he's the only guy around that understands what's going on.

If I was in that locker room full of guys saying we're preparing great and just need to stay the course, I think I'd be going batshit crazy too.

 Did Dan say that? Jesus fudging Christ on a shingle, you're telling me a team of professional athletes cannot overcome the adversity caused by a press conference?

Marshall says he hopes they can turn it around on Sunday by feeding off the fans' energy. Your move, Bears fans. Get outta there and watch your TV show in person!

I'd guess that Marshall is more of a distraction than he is part of the solution. He seems to be doing his best to say "Not my fault" without saying it in the media at every opportunity.

His effort seems to be pretty good though but if I'm in that locker room I'm still questioning his dedication when he's flying to New York every week when he is injured.

i'm pretty sure marshall is easily having the worst year of his professional career this year. i don't think it's even close unless he was a sparsely-used-rookie. that's pretty funny to me, but not to dan bernstein WHO'S GUY TOLD HIM THIS WAS COMING ALL THE WAY BACK IN 2012!!!!!

That seems insane to question his dedication. I don't think flying increases the chance of him worsening his injury, and he was clearly one of the only Bears still giving a fuck in the 4th quarter the last 4 games.

How can it be a "cultural issue" but not at all the fault of the McCaskey's? How does that work exactly?

I don't care about the fourth quarter of blowouts. Do something when you aren't playing against defenses that are just watching the clock run.

It's more than fair to question his dedication. I get someone calling into a radio show for an hour once a week but it's a lot different to be adding two extra plane flights and a bunch of time filming your second job. There is a reason not many players do this.

Unless you can actually point out how it's affecting his play it is not fair to question his dedication for doing a tv show. It takes nothing away from what he was doing with the Bears.

He might have a chance to do something earlier in the game if he wasn't playing with one of the worst starting quarterbacks in the league.
