He isnt an actor, he is just nuts. they just happen to have a camera on him a ton and he then gets paid. Russell Zisky specfically talked about how they just let the camera run on Murrays long tirades...Gunga la Gunga is only a small part of a 30 minute rant that was unrehearsed.

It's like Robin Williams. His acting roles? Ehhh..Good Will was fine and they let him have freedom to improvise, but Robin Williams ranting in a stand up is some of the best shit ever, they would just never allow that shit today in hollywood with big budget films.
