likely a lot safer in that situation because youre paranoid of getting hurt. going up there sober and pissed off that youre doing hard work just leads to carelessness.

Im going to have to disagree with the overall point here.

I concede that some people can be skillful when high or after a drink or two.

But I think a company asking that you stay sober during work hours is a reasonable request.

that would be a waste of time because they could pass the tests even if theyre stoned.
That is the point!

You claim there are people that can get high and safely operate heavy machinery. Let them prove it.

that would be the idea. but you were crying that we shouldnt let anyone on any type of drugs in any concentration get anywhere near machinery. that is not for you or anyone to decide but your DOCTOR>

This is absolutely false and I hope no one else agrees with this.

Dear IkeSouths Boss,
I am his doctor. I have determined that he is able to operate a forklift while high on crystal meth. Do not stop him from doing so.

I was on the ground, pulling on the rope.

My buddy is 160 lbs, and can climb trees like a monkey. He can do the air work.

Florida spent $118k to save $46k. What is it that you don't understand about this being a bad idea? Poor people aren't your enemy.

Your employer's job isnt to make sure you follow the law. That why we have law enforcement. What you do off the clock is none of your employer's business.

It seems that you feel lucky to have a job. I'm sorry you feel that way. Companies love guys like that. I never feel that way. They are lucky to have me as an employee. And it's none of their fucking business, if I want to toke up at home.

Poor people aren't my enemy. But when people choose to limit the place they can work but still be willing to take a check they are my enemy. Companies have to drug test now more than ever because of insurance liabilities. The state of Illinois just completed a ramp that links 294 to 57 when there's another ramp to get to 294 less than 5 miles away on 80. I'm going to guess that the cost of this is probably 20 times the cost it would take to drug test welfare recipients. This was a much more heinous act against tax payers than subjecting someone that is asking for free money to a drug test.

When you get back to working let me know how easy it is to find a job making a good living with a certain skill set and having drugs in your system.

There is already a big problem with certain "pain clinics".

these tests do nothing but waste taxpayer money. If you support this, in the face of those facts, then you are guilty of demonizing the poor. They are not your enemy.

This is a whole other discussion but that project serves the public. It's going to help traffic congestion and it will likely have an economic impact on the surrounding area for years to come.

There is no gain with testing.

He also wants to force women to be subject to invasive, and medically unnecessary procedures, when they seek an abortion. But, thats another discussion for another day.

gotta love those small gov't loving GOP.

Hawg, you have no issue with the guy wasting your money to solve a non-existent problem?

When we get together for golf and a beer again, and I hope it is early next spring we can discuss. I don't really like getting into a whole lot of my views on political things on the internet.

only because doctors have no way to track what drugs you have been prescribed by other doctors in the past... a simple computer program could do that.

Can we all agree that poor people that smoke weed are what's exactly wrong with our society?

I've got videogames to play here today.
