oh comeon man.... all brandon's doing is talking shit. jesus christ almighty there's a whole genre of music called "rap" where you talk shit for a living..... this ain't some audio clip bombshell.... we know brandon marshall is a "sociopath" or a "nogooder" or whatever dan wants to call him.... but why is this some huge deal?

"why do y'all care? why do y'all care? it's entertaining.... it's fun" - brandon marshall right on the money. people peppering him about the timing of saying this and he's like "just because we're 3-6 i gotta change who i am? .... i'm a thought provoker and that's what i am"

so brandon's essentially trolling the bernstein types of the media world with all this shit-talking and dan's taking the bait and grabbing his torch and pitchfork of JUSTICE and taking brandon to task for this irresponsible stuff (remember: newschool/evolved dan bernstein isn't the voice of the fan.... he's the voice of the ownership/management. it's not about daydreaming "what would it be like to be michael jordan?" it's about daydreaming "what would it be ike to be michael jordan's boss"

FIRED. FULL MELTDOWN. whatever.... jesus christ almighty they're writing his ticket out of town? and has marshall been arrested 23 times or the guy who he talked shit to? comeon.

THE GM SAID READ YOUR CONTRACT AND HES MAKING A JOKE ABOUT IT.

jesus christ this is truly miserable person radio for miserable people. comeon dan.... he's just talking shit and TROLLING YOU (i know you're up on the term since you've used it in a context that's not too dissimilar from a senior citizen taking about technology) it's a bunch of bullshit.... he was just talking shit to the media and now we're getting REALLY. SERIOUS. RADIO. about how he's a cancer. and now he's going to beat up a fan in the name of anti-bullying? dude man he's just conjecturing.... but i guess when the team's 3-6 adn YOUR GM SAYS READ YOUR CONTRACT you don't joke about SERIOUS BUSINESS like that.... instead you brand him as "COMPLETELY DERANGED" and make OUTRAGE RADIO GOLD. concerned teammates are trying to stop him from self destructing! it's a conspiracy.

sorry for my diaherreal spat of consecutive/ish posts.... but comeon. this is seriously radio made for executives and not fans anymore.

I'll admit that I normally don't know what you're going on about, but you're on the mark here. Marshall's transgressions here have been pretty fucking minor. Fired? Suck a dick, Boers.

i'll admit that while i've technically posted with you for years i don't ever remember a single thing you've ever said, but you're definitely my BROWN'S CHICKEN POSTER OF THE SHOW here! thanks for the kind words, sir!

but yeah, i mean, didn't they just give marshall new paper? you figure there's at least one more year to see if he can return to his ~100rec/1200yds/10TD form cuz this has easily been the worst year of his career.... but holy shit we're talking about NFL #1 WRs here.... they're all divas and outspoken and saying dumb shit and trying hard to be the straw that stirs the drink in the name of self promotion.... if you get down to the mentality of what they do for a living they have to go out there and mug for the damn ball. they can't do their job unless someone's paying attention to them for fuck's sake, so go figure that #1 WRs tend to have exhibitionist complexes where they're always going LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME! it's their fucking ethos (and quite possibly pathos to many) for fuck's sake.

and then athletes are all overvalidated millionaire manchildren who likely had an idea they weren't going to have any resemblance of a real life by the time they were like 14-16 years old, so now at age 30 they're totally supervalidated narcissists who have been almost unequivocally rewarded for all of their attention whoring ways.... *especially* the WRs.... but then in this goofy age we live in where people can't even talk shit and conjecture about bullshit fantasy scenarios like a charity boxing match with a disgruntled lions fan... they all know it's bullshit. brandon marshall knows he can't go boxing while under contract with the bears. emery prolly joked with him when he said READ YA CONTRACT.... but now we've got the real asslickers calling up like OMFG HE DISRESPECTED HIS *BOSS* THAT'S HIS BOSS AND YOU DONT DISRESPECT YOUR BOSS LIKE THAT!

marshall was joking/trolling the whole time. emery was joking. marshall was joking after emery joked. but dan bernstein ISN'T joking. this team is sick.... this team is ill. THIS TEAM NEEDS REALLY. SERIOUS. PEOPLE. WHO RESPECT THEIR BOSSES AND TAKE THEIR ***JOBS*** SERIOUSLY BECAUSE IT'S NOT LIKE THEY PLAY A CHILDREN'S GAME FOR A LIVING!!! THIS IS A MULTIBILLION DOLLAR BUSINESS/MEDIA EMPIRE!!!! RESPECT YOUR BOSS!

</rant>

sorry man this shit is just pissing me off because dan has taken it upon himself to be outraged for everybody in the whole fucking world here, and abbatacola has decided to only let through the asslicking callers to rubberstamp what bernstein says because REALLY. IMPORTANT. RADIO. needs to drive home the message that THERE IS NO DEBATE. DAN IS RIGHT. cuz lord knows theres gotta be some dinglebait calling up wanting to tell dan "hey drama king you know marshall's just talking shit, right?"

He's not wrong, but Dan calling out anyone for using passive voice is epic WYC material.

Brandon Marshall engages in talk of fighting a fan on twitter - no problem.

Rex Ryan says "fuck you" on the field after a game - $100,000 fine.

Cracker-jack organization this NFL of ours is.

That's just dumb.

Your guess is just that - a guess.

You are falling into the same trap Bernstein does - you have a pre-formed opinion on what will happen based on what did happen before. That's reasonable, but suggesting that something HAS happened without any evidence is not fair.

If Brandon Marshall does something terrible along those regards, then we'll address it accordingly.

What we DO know is that he and his wife have done a lot of charitable work and have written a lot of checks for said charities.

Why does he need to go away? He's having a down year (as is the whole team) and is hurt. Assuming his skills haven't diminished, he's still one of the best 5-6 WR in the game. Why would he need to go away? Because he's annoying?

Not really. What is said on the field is the NFL's property and domain.

Twitter - and all of social media - is a whole other animal. Are you suggesting fining Marshall? If so, who does it? Is there a specific NFL policy that he violated? How is it enforced? What other Twitter things are now finable? Guy's swearing? Chris Culliver making a comment about a gay dude? Darnell Dockett saying he wants to nail Katherine Webb?

Social Media is a whole other animal and gets into the realm of free speech/'outside of football'/etc.

But as Mannelly said - it's like superpowers - can be used for good or bad.

I'd bet if you asked every coach and owner that if they had their druthers, every athlete would be banned from posting anything on Twitter.

What benefit is there to keeping him?

Are there some championship aspirations for next year, or likely the year after that, I'm unaware of?

I mean, I don't see the other two teams that couldn't wait to see him go clamoring for him to come back and be a part of their team unless I need to get a better set of internet tubes installed at my residence.

Dan's nauseating analysis aside, I'm unable to discern what upside there is to keeping this colossal asswipe around the Bears any more than I'm aware of an upside to keeping Trestman past this season.

I don't think he'll be on the team for the first game of next year. There have been a lot of distractions this year and it seems like it is getting worse and not better.

There is a reason he wore out his welcome in Denver and Miami even while being a very productive player. Just a bad guy who is tough to deal with and it never gets better with him.

In a year highlighted by egregious violence towards women as well as egregious violence towards a 4-year old child, I'd think the NFL might be slightly more attuned to squelching their ostensible 'face' of mental health awareness that happens to have a rich history of giving his wife the ol' speed bag treatment ... never mind the level of irony that exceeds anything the Onion would dare attempt that comes with anyone, let alone this delusional dickwagon, couching the cleverness of suggesting a fist-fight in the name of stamping out bullying.

Phil signed Marshall to a 3-year $30 million extension ($14.8 guaranteed). He's on the team for next year!

The contract is friendly for a trade after this year. Even cutting him doesn't hurt that much but some team will give them a 5th round pick for Marshall. Hello Jets!

Who turned the music up!?!?!? Conspiracy!!!!

They are plastic Nicki Minaj to try to silence the Woodward and Bernstein interviewing that is happening to get the bottom of this vast conspiracy!

Because he's one of the best 5-6 WRs in the game. Unless they can trade Marshall for a number of quality picks that would translate into starters, why not keep him?

Because he's annoying? It's more of an issue because of the Bears shitshow. If they were winning, it would just be a dumb thing that people would talk about and then move on from (ala the 'Bennett Throws Fuller' thing in camp).

Rex Ryan, 2-8 Head Coach or Rex Ryan, DC whose secondary gave up 24 passing TDs (playing behind one of the best front 7s in the NFL) going into last week?

Don't worry, Dan and terry got the guy to admit that he'd much rather have the music turned down FOR PROFESSIONALISM.

but then again Dan and terry are normal people whose lives are based on a tangential relationship to PLAYERS, as in people who plays a game for a living (i'd include rappers in this definition of "players" as i'm sure they also have a lot of sex with many many ppl, but getting paid bog $$$ to play a game creates a juvenile culture that yeah ideally it can be professional around the edges.... But come on. Do we want to watch a game of businessmen va businessmen or a game of superhero man children vs superhero man children?

It's escapism. It's fantasy. And yes it's technically a multibillion dollar multimedia empire, but in the end it's ppl playing a game. You can smell the sour grapes from miles away when Dan and terry share their buttburt that these super validated/overcompensated manchikdren don't take the media's jobs/lives as seriously as the media does.

We've gots case of TONE POLICE going on as Dan describes the cancerous words of a sociopathic LUNATIC disrespecting his desperate boss as opposed to a bunch of ppl joking around about some bullshit.

Hey guys i'm going to assemble a concert called THE AERIAL RAVE!!!!!!1 where I assemble the greatest electronic musicians on earth to throw a rave in anairborne cargo plane and we're going to have slave girls on the plane to suck off everyone lucky enough to attend... And oh yeah if denisdman shows up there's a 75% chance we won't throw him off the plane because I think we could get along. Oh and of course free heroin for everybody there cuz if you're going to go to the most killer rave in history.... In the air!!!!1 are you gonna want to risk that 25% chance we throw denisdman off the plane and you're NOT smacked out to enjoy it?

And in a show of solidarity with Brandon Marshall we're all gonna bust champagne bottles over a bitch's face just because we're down withb#15 like that because we here at the ikesouth foundation promote quality mental health like that!!!

So seriously guys I'm gonna schedule this aerial rave in may or June when the weather is right and I knowaphex twin and ceephax are down still waiting on Ellie goulding and ajrillex and autechre. No doubt HBO or showtime will wanna carry this... My PO said to check my contract but fuck that man i'll go back to jail if we can pull off the aerial rave!!!!!!

---

Now if Dan Bernstein had any say at my place/s if employment i'd be automatically fires for saying that and making these concrete plans for an illegal drug fueled and 25% potentially murderous dance music party.... Oh and I totally disrespected my PO like that. So I should be fires and blackballed from ever working outside of fast fopod again! Huzzah!

(Oh no, DAS HAWGER might not "get" my post! Soooo close to hitting cancel here =)

Two other NFL teams couldn't wait to get rid of this guy. I'm fairly confident the word "annoying" isn't appropriate to cover the scope of problems he brings to an organization.

A team with no chance of contending for anything other than 3rd place in their own division doesn't need to trade any level of nonsense for any receiver even if he's the best in the game. Even if your supposition was true, the point you're inexplicably missing is the "if" qualifier ... if they were winning, if they were going to contend to win. Neither statement is remotely true or possible to be true any time in the next two, probably three, years ... your own point only furthers my contention.

Rex Ryan, 2-8 Head Coach or Rex Ryan, DC whose secondary gave up 24 passing TDs (playing behind one of the best front 7s in the NFL) going into last week?

Do you actually think I was seriously suggesting a trade of a position player for a head coach?

I'm slightly curious if Dan actually thinks in any material way that by basically brushing off something Phil Emery said to him in passing in a hallway he's in breach of contract vis a vis insubordination .... whether or not he believes it or is being lazy and letting that comment steer the remainder of the show, it's just as stupid as anything he lampoons others for saying.

How many times have they made fun of Rod Zimmerman and Mitch Rosen, by the way ... or Disney or CBS corporate?!?

downloading podcasts just feels icky and wrong.... unless they're wrestling podcasts which i download because stone cold says so.

what would you miss more, the commercials or the updates?

actually i was, as the british would say, taking the piss about the whole podcasts thing. while i'm not quite a podcast maven in that i appreciate marc maron as one of the unheralded comedic greats of our era (but his interviews man... *inhales* they're really DEEP, you know... * exhales * he gets into some serious shit man.... and it's not all why do you hate your dad how much money are you worth and how big is your cock like it is with howard stern" ---- nor do i own any mangria, tho i will cop to being familiar enough with the SMODCAST themesong that i can sing along with my much-needed alternative lyrics to mock it whenever it comes by.

what can i say any show with "babble-on" in its title is a kindred show, you know?

but yeah like i said mainly those LAW/live-audio-wrestling podcasts with review-a-wai and now even review-a-raw and of course bauer & pollock have been taking over my "fall asleep listening to opie and anthony.... erm... jimmy (nee howard stern)" #1 podcast slot for awhile, cuz seriously what's more fun than passing out while listening to two bigtime wrestling smarks shit all over ECW november to remember 98? or halloween havoc 94?

otherwise, that tunein radio app for my phone has been brilliant cuz i can jump all over the world for music and talk and once you know the stations' patterns you can jockey that tunein app to have less than ~2mins/hr of commercials nad be entertained by a wide variety of radio.... i mean who doesn't like checking in with the sports pope for a segment or two throughout the day?

My guess is there is a lot that we don't know about. He basically has to go away after the season.

That's just dumb.
Another useless post by you.

Oh, don't feel so threatened. You'll always be the board's most useless asshole.
