I have been listening to 670 for just over a year now.
Maybe that is why Hub doesn't bother me so much. Also, I liked when he was on the old Pro Football Weekly show (whatever it is called now) with Hampton/Waddle/some-ex-Bear.

He is very different in front of players than he is when he starts telling everyone about his longtime kinship with Jim Harbaugh because they once lived 3 blocks from each other.

Yeah, that happened. He said that on CTL AND on the Score. Apparently he thought it was a clever little line.

One of my favorite Hub Flubs was when a caller asked him if Jim Harbaugh was going to be the next coach of the 49ers. Hub gave a dismissive chuckle and said that Jim Harbaugh would never work for the York family.

Several days later Harbaugh was announced as the new head coach of the 49ers.

1. Great inside info, Hub. Way to work those insider connections.
2. Sounds like you're really close with Harbaugh.

SENIOR. FOOTBALL. EXPERT.

I like the Hubster. Along with the the Rooneys, the Maras, the Halases, the Lambeaus, and the Sabols, the Arkushes are NFL royalty. Plus, he played the game. What's not to like.

I haven't seen it lately though. I think he pawned it, bought some Swifty Lazar glasses, and paid his cell phone bill with the rest.

hub is overly negative most often than not... and just my opinion... but i dont trust that he is really clued in to the league happenings like your shefters, rappaorts, florio's are (even though they just report whatever the NFL wants them to report).

The idea of Hub singing 'Can I Borrow a Feeling' is damn near the best thing ever.

I've brought this up a million times, but it never stops being funny to me, so here we go again:

Like most old white sportswriters, Hub thinks that Bill Parcells is some kind of genius, and thus talks about him the way Bernstein talks about Ozzie Guillen. The funniest example of this was a 3-year stretch in which he unsuccessfully picked the Chad Henne-helmed Dolphins to make the playoffs because he "like[d] the way that team [was] put together." This was funny on a number of levels--not least of which was hearing Hub double down on his belief that Jeff Ireland is a "strong football guy" just as the rest of America was coming to the realization that Ireland is actually a laughably incompetent football guy, and a terrible human being to boot. But the real upshot was the Hubbest Thing Ever, which is when Hub picked the 2009 Dolphins to make the playoffs, and they went 7-9, and then the 2010 Dolphins started 2-0 and Hub actually, seriously, legitimately said "teehee, guess I just picked 'em a year too early, eh guys, teehee!" and then the 2010 Dolphins ended up 7-9 too.

I remember the Henne year. We had good times laughing at Hub!

I always just breezed through Hub talking and never really paid any attention to the giggling, but now that's all I hear...

So he's that bad and I have missed it this whole time?
I'll have to keep my ears sharp tonight when he talks to the people.

Oh.... there is one thing I'll always like Hub for:

Disagreeing with Dan over the handling to AP when the story first broke. It flustered Dan so badly that after the segment with Hub was over Dan spent 15 minutes refuting his position!

Dan wants Goodell gone, except when Goodell doesn't comply with due process.

Not defending what AP did, it was horrible. You want to punish AP? Change the rules through due process.

I'm a long time Hub ALS member. Hub is well connected to the Bears and the NFL and isn't afraid to criticize players or management, unlike Zach and most other Bears reporters in Chicago,

In 1996 he was a company man. He stayed that way until the Bears discontinued their relationship with him.

What is your evidence of Hub's connectedness?

He never seems to be right about anything.

He thought Mel Tucker was a "great hire" for God's sake!

Seems like he has a pipeline to Phil Emery then.
