I think Mac's point is that some fans won't 'let it go' regarding Wannstedt. It's a Bears town - that's why. ...and I know some White Sox fans that remind us of the Terry Bevington era regularly. That was quite awhile ago also.

It's all about passion for the franchise - and how the national media doesn't hold Wannstedt responsible for any of it. We can. ...and do.

I think Jerry Krause was given a much rougher ride in this town than Wannstedt - and he was there when they won six championships. He brought in all the pieces around Jordan - and that's not as easy as some people think - look out in LA where Kobe is frustrated because they can't put the right players around him.

Yeah you don't see us Cubs droning on and on about the Jim Essian era  Remember when he started off 5-0 and he was the toast of the town?

We'd need a lifetime to go over the century of bad managerial moves on the North Side.

OR....

We could blame a goat or a hapless 30 some year old geek that lives in his parent basement

Wow, for a fan of Dave Wannstedt, Mac couldn't even remember the TE that Wanny signed as a free agent and proclaimed "Cook could be our Jay Novacek!"

Nice.

OK, Mr. Assassin, please stop. You have proven that repressed memory syndrome exists (at least mine does--my head fucking hurts).

Probably the best thing Rosenboom ever did was, a few games into the season "where the pieces are all in place," put a picture of an upside down, battered little red wagon at the top of his "Good Morning" column. The imagery was perfect.

I do have to credit Wanny with one thing: during his tenure, so many fans tossed their season tix in the trash that I was able to move up 7,000 places on the waiting list and actually get those season passes in his last year. I was able to BOOOO him in person and I have no regrets.

...yes, I credit Dave Wannstedt for gettting me involved with Fantasy Football - as I couldn't stomach watching the losses any longer, or the press conferences where I heard "If you took those two big plays away from the Packers we would have been right in there."
