Peaky Blinders. Start watching this yesterday. I loved Boardwalk Empire, but damn this is much better. Also, have a Refn night and check out Valhalla Rising then Bronson then Drive then Only God Forgives.

Lighten things up with Trailer Park Boys and then get back on the disturbed train and experience "Filth" to see James McAvoy in a whole new light.

I thought it was great. I know it didn't get much love but what type of film were people expecting?

definitely not for everybody but i found it to be hypnotic and intensely intriguing. had elements of noir and abstract artsy jumbly shit that somehow worked...i've watched parts of it probably 5 or 6 times.

Bronson was great, I think I fell asleep during Drive so I have no opinion on it, and haven't seen the other 2 mentioned.

I was looking at Peaky Blinders, but it got pretty blah reviews so I decided to pass. Maybe I'll give it a look at some point.

Just finished season 1 of Happy Valley (6 episodes). Holy shit was that amazing! Pretty much a rip off of Fargo the movie in a lot of respects, but goes so much deeper since its 6 hours long. The main police captain is a woman just like in Fargo, but she is such a good character that she pretty much carries the entire series.

And the villain is one of the best, most real, villains I've ever seen on a show. No redeeming qualities at all, just pure evil, but all realistic.

Between this show, House of Cards and Rectify, there's no reason not to own Netflix even if you just buy a month membership and go on a binge fest for these 3 shows. 3 of the best shows on TV no matter what the channel.

Another good show on Netfix....Nazi Hunters. 8 episode run, documentary with each episode telling the story of how a famous Nazi war criminal was caught after the War. First two episodes were the Hangman of Riga who personally was responsible for murdering 30,000 Jews in Latvia and had been living in Brazil for 25 years and the second was Adolf Eichmann who had been in Argentina for 20 years. Fascinating how Mossad pulled it off.

i just started watching boss. season 1 was really good but season 2 is fantastic. not sure why i didnt catch this years ago...

its really getting to the point where its literally impossible to consume everything thats being made. it hasnt been a problem in the past when most of the shit was shit... but it seems like there are a dozen outstanding series on tv and i just dont see how one could watch it all

I recently sat down and finally watch Twin Peaks. I thought the first season was great, but man I thought the second season got quite silly and campy. Good ending though. I'm looking forward to season three coming up on Showtime.

Don't know if it is still on Netflix, but "Old Jews Telling Jokes" was a pretty entertaining documentary.

Tom Segura - "Completely Normal".
I was crying from laughter.
And for those of you who don't have Netflix, there are segments on youtube.
So wrong, but oh, so funny.

I thought Bronson tried too hard. Way over rated. Too much penis. A bit silly at times. My current binge is Mad Men. Good but boring if thats possible. Dexter is great if you have not seen it yet. Several seasons to binge on though not a hidden treasure.

Dont trust reviews of some shows though. I think Luther, Top of the Lake and The Fall all rated well but suck in my opinion. Wasted a few hours on all three of these.

Amazon Prime has a lot of HBO series now. Including the Wire.

Agreed, Marco Polo looks lame.

I might give Peaky Blinders a run during the post-xmas week of laziness.

Peaky is also getting meh reviews, although better than Marco for sure.

Happy Valley and Rectify are the way to go if you're looking for something on Netflix, although I'm not entirely sure that Rectify is on netflix.

In case you didn't already know, Gracepoint on Fox was the American version of Broadchurch which just wrapped up
season 1 last week. Broadchurch was better.

thanks, I think I had heard that. From my experience the BBC version is always better, at least 9/10 times.

Only one off the top of my head that defeats that principle is House of Cards, and even that Im not sure cause I never saw the BBC version, but the USA version is pretty awesome so I'm asuming...

Black Mirror. If you enjoy the Twilight Zone or Bradbury and want a modern feel this show is great. Only 6 episodes but the Christmas one debuts tonight. 90 minutes staring Jon Hamm. It is a British show and it is really good if you are into that type of thing.
