You know, every year is supposed to be the year that the Oilers have a dazzling offense and make the big leap. But then it always turns out that their offense sucks because they never establish possession so HOW DO YOU SCORE IF YOU NEVER HAVE THE DAMN PUCK, and then they always wind up with some shitty offense like 2.40/game on the year. Even when they try to get decent NHL defensemen, they can't figure it out. And Scrivens was a good goalie in Toronto and Los Angeles before the Oilers broke his soul. I'm starting to think the building is cursed.

When the Oilers get their new arena in 2016, I hope that helps them get some administrative/coaching talent that they can't seem to get now. I'll miss the upside-down ice at Northlands, though.

Heard reports of a news conference scheduled for today or tomorrow. He should be fired, but I don't know what difference it will make. I think at this point the Oilers need to put Lowe or MacTavish on the Isiah Thomas plan: you got us into this mess, now you get us out.
