More Ed Farmer is bad news for all of us.

IMHO, Farmio is not a play-by-play guy. He's okay spelling Rooney for an inning or 2.

When put in the main pbp slot, he'll wear on listeners a la Hawk on the TV side.

Get a pro in there. Leave Farmer to be the analyst.

Pappy seemed a little miffed this morning that his name wasn't mentioned in the article.

As much as it pains me to say this, Pappy would probably be better than any of the candidates mentioned in the article, except, perhaps, Kittle. Cangelosi--has no thoughts. Lyons--too "slick" for his own good. Lyle Mouton--wtf? That's one crappy list of finalists.

That little falling asleep in the hotel in Houston, probably didn't impress the Sox/station as to his dedication to do the job. No one here was impressed, other than keeping snore, and I'll bet no one at the station and at the White Sox were either.
I'm quite sure that BS in Houston cost him any consideration for the job.

Does it really matter if the whole thing is wrapped up in a big Jesse Rogers pre/post game suckfest?

Jesse, Cangelosi, & Farmer. Wish I had access to the Bill Cartwright “terrible” soundbyte here…

The pre game show is only a half hour and the manager's interview is five minutes. Farmer's daily lickfest with Don cooper will take up another five and then they will have Bruce and his mighty insight for another five. But yes the post game show will suck.

With that crowd, you'll get many chances for really bad sound bites. Just as long as Notth doesn't get the job, I'm waiting for the temper tantrum that is still to come. LOL!!!! That might be his ONLY good show worth listening.

I was pretty sure he wasn't going to get the job. It's one thing to do color for DePaul basketball.........

ya know....

because nobody really cares....

I'm being serious too. I went to UIC, so I really know what it means to have nobody care about you except the Bill Jaus' and Les Grobsteins of the sports media...

Reinsdorf uses Pappy as a little toy. He gives North the impression that he is actually considering him. This way Mike tends to kiss his ass.

I've seen the list and Pappy is just below Ivan Calderon! :P

I agree with that list, I'd rather listen to Calderon than North!!! Maybe Ivan can get the morning job with a format switch to Spanish!

Lyle Mouton!!!! What a waste of some immense talent, on the field. In the booth, yikes.

Ivan's performance edge over North is only enhanced by the fact that he was murdered over a year ago. RIP.

At some point there was talk about Lyons replacing Rooney. Since he has a national gig he would be unavailable for Saturday games. I think North would be good fit in a once a week role.
