Specifically the ones NOT IN FERGUSON!

You want to be part of a clear stated objective like ANTI POLICE VIOLENCE, thats fine, then organize your wannabe hippie asses and do something, dont just be the next Wall St Sit In Losers that got nothing besides some jail time and legal fees.

50 people marching in Utah with their hands up saying dont shoot or 30 people blocking intersections in Scottsdale and throwing a rock threw a store is smart? Go back to your dorm room and your parents house and STFU.

I'm watching the Klan meeting between you and Steve, from the sidelines.

So from my statement you have now determined that I am a part of the KKK? because I think 35 white kids walking down the street in Utah is a misdirecteed and foolish effort?

To me, it appears that there is a lot of thinly veiled racism in your posts, regarding subjects such as this.

Your pruning shears are out early and often, yet Steve's pearls of wisdom are always protected. This doesn't help to change that perception.

Again, this is how it comes across, to me.

1. I have not deleted anything .

2. Your rush to call out people as racist and members of the KKK I think is more than inappropiate, there is a huge issue with violent and over anxious cops, but I guess you think Looting, protests and destruction is a good way to deal with it.

3. Yes, I have a problem with Kids like this "protesting" with no direction and causing more problems in Utah, AZ and Denver.

Bigfan, honest question: why do you always seem to say that white people who are concerned about race issues are just faking it? Do you believe that only black people should care about racism?

Who says you have to be black to be afraid of cops with tanks?

You have deleted tons of posts. It's your board, delete what you want, but every poster here is aware of the pruning shears. No reason to deny it.

Can you show me the posts where I rushed to call out people as racist? I mentioned you and Steve only, based on what I believe to be extremely misguided posts.

There is a very small percentage of people that defend the looters, and I don't think anybody here has, so anytime you want to halt construction on that giant strawman, would be a good time.

Most of your commentary is about the aftermath/looting. I would rather deal with the disease, rather than the symptoms, but to each their own.

So, looting is bad (I agree), but peaceful protesting is also bad? Why do you hate the 1st Amendment of the U.S. Constitution?

No and No

But 30-40 kids in Scottsdale causing damage and blocking traffic does nothing for an effort that needs some leadership and direction.

If this is such a worthwhile effort why didnt you and some of the others here who seem to constantly defend these actions head down to City Hall and sit in front of Rahms office?

I asked you a simple question. Your second paragraph makes no sense. What is there to "defend" about people protesting? Do you also get mad when people exercise free speech?

Lets see in this thread you have called my posts thinly veiled racism and stated you are watching me and Steve have at a KKK meeting....yes, I will say this is you calling me racist.

The kids have the right to protest, i have the right to say the protest are misdirected, unfocused and have no objective. This doesnt mean an issue doesnt exists and needs attention, but has no direction or spokesperson to make change.

I am asking why you and chus have not protested in Chicago if you think it was a worthwhile effort?

You can't be surprised that anybody would interpret your thoughts as I have.

bigfan wrote:

But, you complain about the aftermath only. I don't see a lot of your posts challenging those who abuse their power, only the small guy for doing what little he can to show his frustration.

Looting = bad
peaceful assembly = bad
people coming in to Ferguson to protest = bad
people marching to Rahm's office = good, apparently

You're not alone. There are other posters who go out of their way to defend the cops in situations like this. If it appears that I am picking on you and Steve, maybe it has to do with the sheer volume of posts, and threads started.

Again, I'm just voicing my opinion about what I am reading. The whole idea of a message board, is to exchange ideas and thoughts. You agree with some, you disagree with others. If you would like me to cease commenting on your posts, just say so, and I will.

Bigfan, I have not once said I would personally go protest, and it is not my job to defend them. You are the one who created a thread ripping them. It is your position that needs to be defended. So, my question is, out of all the terrible things going on in the world this very minute, why would you choose to focus so much attention on groups of people protesting something they disagreed with?

I wasn't talking about this thread. You take out the pruning shears often, and everybody knows this. You have deleted TONS of things that I have posted in the past, such as "Thanks, Obama" gifs. It's your board, do what you want. Steve's pearls of wisdom are never deleted, so surely you can understand why I jump to the conclusions that I have.

Leash and I can't criticize your thoughts on the subject, if we are not protesting in Chicago? That makes no sense, especially when you think protesting is a waste of time.

If you (not you personally bigfan, the royal you), don't want to defend your beliefs, keep them to yourself.

You continue to make statements such as me "going out of my way to defend police actions", when you cant find supporting evidence of something that doesnt happen, because I have stated many times of crooked and bad cops throughout the force.

It sure seems you just think I am racist, no matter what is stated.

If I may, bigfan's stance doesn't seem to be overtly racist so much as just a powerful insistence on the status quo. Everyone should just shut up and get back to doing whatever it is they're supposed to be doing.

I think I have done a good job explaining my position. You defend Steve every time, but you do quite a bit of censoring of others.

If it's not true, why do you care so much about what I think? If you kept saying I was gay, I wouldn't spend a second trying to defend the fact that I am not.

My question is simple and doesn't really involve race: why does bigfan get so upset about people protesting things they disagree with? What is it that offends him so much?

I think it is a bunch of kids protesting an obvious issue that needs to be addressed and a large factor in their particpation is the media coverage. They sent out press releases, gathered on a Saturday night, because we know thats when all the local politicians are available. They seem to have done this more for their personal righteousness than contributing to any solution. Sorry for having an opinion, but I guess from that opinion that made me racist and a KKK member.
