What is with the almost total absence of horror films during this Halloween season?

Well, I have to watch something to get my scare on. I wouldn't say this was scary but I did mildly enjoy it, which is better than most horror films. Pretty standard story line. Completely forseeable plot twist.

you gotta look in the independent scene to find horror films. the one i was looking forward to seeing was eli roth's new one, "the green inferno" but he can't find distribution for it. it'll probably wind up on demand and on dvd.

hollywood doesn't have a lot of room for horror films because the genre has eaten itself with over saturation of the same movie made over and over again, and the remakes didn't make enough money. it's gonna take a fresh kind of film to kick start it again.

They need to make another Paranormal Conjuring.

my social situation is one where I cannot block out a Friday night to go to somewhere like Facets and watch an independent. I hear I have a three hour window of dolphin time and I have to quickly optimize.

i'm talking the DVD scene. you don't have to go anywhere.

try "v/h/s" or "trick r treat"...they're anthology films.

DVD is even worse for me. I'd have to start a horror movie at about 11 pm knowing there will most likely be an early wake up call the next day.

I'd be better off if I was old. I'd have freedom. I'm in some odd purgatory between old and young right now.
