Don't want to get too involved here, but the double standard Chus pointed out might ironically be happening here in this thread. Here's what I mean:

Elmhurst Steve wrote:
Not so many decades ago, a 17 year old black male walking through a white neighborhood, would know better than to sass a white man, much less jump him. He might well have been strung up, rather than shot and none of the neighbors would have seen a thing. Maybe this will remind some people about how to act and to know their place in this world.

^ This is pretty much ignored back in summer, and not ignored in the way it should be, but this:

...ruffles feathers. I agree with the idea that people's rights to say whatever should be defended, and it should be pointed out you sort of disagreed with the manner in which Steve expressed his opinion up there, but I guess it's the absence of outrage at posts like Steve's, even if measured, that has folks questioning your attitude, especially when threads are created as Nas did to discuss the reasonableness of such comments.

I appreciate your support, Vegan, but I don't want to see your good name get dragged down with me. I don't want anybody to get hit with any shrapnel intended for me. I'm prepared to go down with the ship, if necessary.

No problem, I write with no malice intended. Just trying to have a convo. By the way, for whatever it's worth, I found the B Mac post I quoted to be crass and all that, and I only cite it as an example and in no way mean to imply it's not unreasonable.

The funny part is he deleted all the reasonable ones. He wanted the masses to jump on me instead of just simply answering a question.

You think there is some kind of conspiracy here to get "the masses" against you? That's crazy person talk. Paranoid talk. Schitzo talk.

It's obvious you don't at this point. But for those you love and those that love you... please, consider getting help for whatever is happening in your head. You're confused, and angry, and you have paranoid delusions and it's becoming more and more obvious each day that you're unbalanced and you need serious help.

I already conceded the Klansman comment. The fact that you are still clinging to that, is very telling, and shows that you are grasping at straws.

You said to me during the Reardon/Chas episodes, and I quote, that you "didn't want your site to be associated with certain things", and I understand that. I have already conceded many times, that I went too far with the Reardon stuff. Making a joke that an anonymous poster, possibly a mult, was a pederast, for vacationing in a pederast's paradise, and picking on a guy who threatened to rape another poster's family are off limits, in your world (I do apologize for dragging Chas into this, but I have to make a point). You have defended Steve's right to make racist comments, to the point that you pretend that you don't even know he makes them, despite posting in those very threads. You have brought up the fact that some people, not me, have tried to fuck with his business, which is another defense of Steve, and completely irrelevant to this discussion. You have responded to other people, by taking passive aggressive shots at me. I have refrained from personal attacks, despite your claims to the contrary. I have answered your questions, despite your claims to the contrary. Then you lied about our PM exchanges, in what was apparently nothing more than a pathetic attempt at character assassination. So, I ask you again.

Why do you protect Steve's right to free speech at all costs, while threatening me with banishment, for exercising the same right?

Well, that's just like your opinion, man.

How was your Thanksgiving, Mr. Reason? I hope all is well with you and yours.

Like most everyone else here, my opinion ain't worth shit. Royal we/you notwithstanding.

I cooked the verticle turkey, so, it was outstanding. Thanks for asking. My hope is all is well in the Chusaroo household, as well.

It was a wonderful weekend. I got to spend five days with my wife and kids, and some family and friends. The Lions kicked ass on Thursday. I was able to score many Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stouts (all varieties) on Black Friday, and I had a great week at the window. Life is good.

Lucky you. Very few of those varieties make it this far south of the Mason/Dixon line. You have to be Johnny on the spot to get any down here. I wasn't quick enough this season. All that being said, I'm still flummoxed by the Royal 'You'.

Statements such as "protecting Steve at ALL COSTS"

Are incorrect and a lie on your behalf.

Deleted many of his statements on the requests of others, as I didnt go looking for them.

What would you like deleted? Its all I can do for you at this point.

The Royal You was a play on the Big Lebowski, that apparently wasn't as clever as I thought.

Chus, here I am offering you a chance to offer a solution to what you see as a problem and you offer up nothing after a full day of accusations towards me.

Does banning Steve solve your issues with this place?

The fact that you bring up other people's attempts to poison his business, leads me to say that. I never did that, so it has nothing to do with me, or this discussion.

bigfan wrote:

Do you even know what a lie is? Of course you do, you've been doing it all day.

It's how I interpreted your comments. It's not even close to a lie. A perfect example of lying is when you misrepresent our PM exchanges.

bigfan wrote:

So, it was others, and not me? You're not trying to throw me under the bus for that?

bigfan wrote:

I have never asked anything to be deleted. That isn't how I roll. It's almost like you aren't responding to the things that I am actually saying. I would like you to stop making excuses for your double standard. I would like you to stop lying to perpetuate your double standard.

You can be as obtuse as you want. You can attempt to change the topic as much as you want. You can lie as much as you want. I'm not going to stop.

How many balcks in Ferguson do you think are stealing TVs tonight? How many are eating lasagna because Domino's has them on a no fly list? Nothing racially charged about that, eh?

So, to be clear, you want me to do nothing to appease you?

You just think I am a racist, lieing , Klansman?

I guess I can now clearly answer your question of why I allow Steve to post , it's because nobody wants me to stop him, including you now.

Perhaps, I've never seen The Big Lebowski. So, I'll not comment on the reference. I'll just say I've no knowledge of the 'Royal You'. However, I will say, I find some misplaced commas, here and there.
