As great as Rodgers has been the last few seasons, I would think he still has to be behind Goober and Tom Brady at this point. He might end up surpassing both, but as Vegan said Manning has been to 3 SBs and Brady has been to 5. I would say Rodgers has to at least get to another Super Bowl before he can be in the conversation of GOAT.

Rodgers is great but I would still take Favre if I had to win 1 game.

I don't disagree with that and that is why I believe Favre can be.

Right, but I dont think Vegan can simultaneously argue that super bowl wins aren't important but super bowl appearances are. I don't think he would be an ally of yours in this debate.

I don't blame you for thinking Manning and Brady are better, but you're trying to argue about who's the most accomplished QB ever, which is different. All of us have seen a ton of Brady, Manning, and Rodgers. I'm taking Rodgers, even if he doesnt make another super bowl the rest of his career. At his best he was definitely better than those guys, IMO.

I don't think you can say that. You can't say Rodgers was definitely better than guys who appeared in and won more playoff games, and in Brady's case, Super Bowls.

Of course we are talking hypothetical playoff wins here, so we might as well bring up Jay Cutler!

Does anyone who is not a Packer fan actually think Rodgers is currently better than Brady and Manning?

He has been great this year and had a real nice career so far, but I just do not see how you can objectively believe he is better than Brady and Manning right now.

Maybe he will get there, but right now it just is not true.

Not arguing that. Wins are great but I'm not going to knock you for "only" going 1-3 in superbowl games.

He's been the best QB in the NFL for a couple years. He has a long way to go to catch Brady.

Exactly. He's on pace to be better.

People forget just how good Peyton Manning is right now. His 2013 was arguable better than any season Rodgers has ever had and this is the twilight of Mannings career.

He was in no way the best QB in the NFL last year. This year, he probably is.

Even on a per game basis he wasn't close to Peyton last year.

Of course I can. I get why you might disagree, but to say I can't say it just sounds ridiculous. I don't think you understood my point about arguing about the most accomplished QB. Manning is indisputably more accomplished than Rodgers. I've seen both play at their best; I think Rodgers is better. You can say that's an invalid opinion, but you would be wrong.

Again, you are arguing about who is the most accomplished. There is no reason to argue about who's on pace for what. We have seen all of these QBs in their prime.

 And for a couple of games, we got to see Eli Manning play better than Goober, Brady, Rodgers, Brees, etc. We have seen them all play at their best, but that doesn't mean Eli was better than all of them.

I don't know what this means. Of course Eli has beat Brady and Rodgers in the playoffs. That is completely irrelevant to my point.

How long you are good matters. I am giving credit for Peyton for being great for a long time. Remember, Peyton last year was better than Rodgers has EVER been. This year, Peyton is still close to Rodgers.

Let me put it this way. If both Rodgers and Peyton retired today, there is no debate that Peyton was not better. Once Peyton retires or has a severe decline, Rodgers can start to creep up on him and eventually pass him.

I've made it clear several times I dont think Rodgers is more accomplished than Manning is. I think at their best Rodgers is/was better. I don't blame you or Frank for disagreeing. But you guys are clearly wrong when you say there is no debate or that I "can't" have this opinion.

Did you still want to compare Manning and Rodgers on a per game basis, or did you just want to do it for one season?

Well, I could say I think that Brees is better than both. Doesn't mean I wouldn't have to actually provide my reasons.

I'd prefer seasons. Both career and per game statistics are skewed in opposite directions with someone who has played less than half the amount of seasons.

I know this doesn't sit well with how you view things, but the most valid reason any of us could provide is that we have watched a ton of football over the past 15 years and I think Aaron Rodgers is the best QB of that span. I think he makes every throw that Peyton can, is just as smart about reading defenses and better than Peyton at reacting to those defenses. His mobility and ability to extend plays is also obviously far superior. Their career stats show that Rodgers has been better also, but I agree with you that it's not fair to use that until the careers are over so that's why I haven't brought it up really.

I watch the games to gain an opinion. Your way works for some people though.

So a diehard Packer fan with the moniker of "FavreFan" watches Packers games and because he thinks Aaron Rodgers is better than anybody, its written in stone.

That is such a load of crap. If IMU posted some BS like that about Castro or one of the other Cubs players he has a chubby over, he would be raked over the coals for it and rightly so.

The fact that you are even bringing up Castro as some type of weird analogy shows you are far more biased than I am.

It's not a load of crap Frank. Like it or not, Rodgers is in the discussion. You guys sound silly trying to say it's not even a debate. Of course it is. Especially this morning.
