If Gentle Giant ™Big Mike does what the officer tells him to do , that's also the case.

Second, it it were a flashbang, I'm nearly certain that the windows would have blown out of the car, that didn't happen here. It looks like it's possible that the car could have been burning and they were looking inside it at the time.
As far as the building being on fire later, the cops and swat units did pull out of several previously secured areas as the night wore on, saw them doing that live on CNN that night.
I will say that I find it very unlikely that a flashbang started that vehicle on fire.
Now, the "scorch marks" look suspisciously like oil stains on the pavement. I would imagine that oil stains in the customer parking lot of an auto parts store would be less than unusual.
Also, the conclusion that a line of cars being on fire is not something a rioter or rioters are capable of is in my opinion a questionable conclusion. Why wouldn't one catch the next one? WHy would a rioter be incapable of setting several cars in a row on fire? Why would we assume that a rioter is not capable of methodical damage?

I'm not saying its completely off the mark. Just offering a devils advocate POV.

Haven't watched the video but I saw the police stand by as a squad car with kicked and jumped on. Once a brick was thrown they pointed their guns at the agitators and they scattered. Then the cops walked away (without securing or moving the car) and seconds later it was on fire.

So.....what?

You so realize that you can torch a car with crude incendiary devices right? The car was turned over by the protestors so I think the had the will.

And why would the police try to move and secure the car at that point? They were outnumbered and the car was already being wrecked. If the police decided to intervene and in turn beat the shit out of people and that leads to an escalation or someone shot....I'm sure you be applauding them, right?

If Darren Wilson would have waited for back up. and not escalated a situation, do you realize that this post never happens?

This guy gets it.

Question for the self appointed moral arbiter, or Hypocrite-in-Chief Badrogue. Is "responding to the post, not the poster" your policy all the time, or just some of the time?

Correct.

But it cost Wilson his job.

It cost Michael his life.

It shouldn't have happened. Wilson was the authority figure and public servant. It was incumbent upon him to make the right move. He didn't.

Seacrest, it's a lot easier to treat the symptoms, rather than the disease. Rushing to judgment also seems like the fun and easy thing to do.

OK? That's great but I'm not sure how that relates to my post. I never mentioned Darren Wilson or his actions/inactions concerning Michael Brown.

My post was about a specific situation that occurred during the riots.

Maybe you meant to respond to someone's else's post?

Seems you're doing a lot of moral arbiting yourself these days champ. If I was clever like your buddy McNown I'd post a picture of a mirror.you going to whine about your good name being besmirched yet call BigFan a member of the KKK? Oh wait that was hyperbole, my bad. xxxxooo

It's unlikely I would find myself in the same situation Mike Brown was in, but if anyone pointed a gun at me and told me they were going to kill me, I would try to take it out of their hands too. Officer Wilson said that's what happened.

Try and stay on topic. We are not talking about McNown, we are talking about you.

You have scolded me many times for "responding to the poster, not the post". Could you give me the specifics of when you do enforce this policy, and when you don't? I see inconsistencies. Responding to a post that seemed racist, is responding to the post. Calling me out as a father, is responding to the poster.

You have also chastised myself, and others about the gangbang mentality. Yet, everytime a thread like this happens, you somehow end up front and center, leading the gangbang?

viewtopic.php?f=47&t=88145&p=2038121&hilit=gangbang#p2038121

Are you a hypocrite, a raging rectum, or somewhere in between?

It has everything to do with your post.

If Wilson would have acted in the same manner as those you referenced, then you have nothing to post about here.

Only when illicit authority is threatened and forced to consider their bad behavior, will they ultimately ending doing just that. They don't give a shit about a destroyed cop car.

And Wilson's responses appear to show that he doesn't understand or give a shit about a black man's life.

Wilson DID NOT do what he was trained to do.

He is trained to wait for back up. Michael was no immediate threat to anyone, including Wilson, when he pulled up on him.

I would be cooperative until he told me that he was going to kill me. Survival instincts kick in at that point.

Didn't he say "stop or I'll kill you"?

I already admitted that I was wrong, and apologized for it. But, by all means, keep clinging to that.

We are talking about you here.

You claim that it is wrong to "respond to the poster, not the post". I have responded to posts that I thought were racially charged. Responding to the post. Yet, here you are, calling me out. I was called out as a person, and father. That is responding to the poster. You have been very vocal about how wrong that is, but you are silent now.

You claim that it is wrong to jump in on a gangbang, yet you have done it here, again.

Remember, we are talking about you here. Stay on topic, if your pea sized brain allows you to do so. What is holding you back from understanding what a hypocrite you are?

By the way as far as my anti gang bang stance how many pages is this thread? How many posts do I have in it? Besides I thought I passed the moral arbiter thing to Scorehead. You said the same thing to him right? Whose tomorrow's choice? Big Fan ? Some Guy? Anyone else who dares question your genius insight? Your moral high ground just may be a little higher than mine . Roll one up and enjoy my good man, you are once again undisputed board champ. :thumleft: :thumright:

Of course it does. Things get solved, realizations of great truths are brought to bear and people come together in unity.

Should I keep reading?

Does it get better?

Nas joins the KKK on page 19. Keep going.

What is this, a Choose your own Adventure book?

I for one think bigfan is right. These protesters are douchebags. Hands up don't shoot (after he already tried to reach for your gun and probably kill you.)

But hey Wilson washed his hands after the fact so he probably had all this planned out when he left home that morning.

Do you believe all the details in Wilson's story?

I think he added a few things. Of course he didnt plan anything out. He still could be in the wrong.

Protests should be organized

I don't think there is anything wrong with bigfan's original post. I actually think it's a great point that protests like these are too small scale, disorganized, and too fleeting to actually make an impact. It really is wasting everybody's time without actual leadership and a clearly stated, realistic objective(e.g. Mandatory body cameras on cops).

I think Darren Wilson belongs in jail, but I also don't think that is relevant to bigfan's op. And how anybody inferred racism from it is sorta beyond me.

Yep.

If one actually reads BigFan's posts in this thread and elsewhere that point is pretty clearly made. Not just once but several times.

Anyways, FarveFan, I'll see you at the next KKK rally, right? Should be a good one.

You and Biggie should teach classes on how to distract when you're getting your ass kicked.

You always think you're kicking someone's ass. You never are.
