I can't even believe this discussion is upon us but, who are we looking at?

Andre Woodson, QB? If we end up worse than ATL?

Atlanta and Miami will be drafting QBs, unless Leftwich comes in and goes something like 8-1. Miami will probably be getting the #1 pick. I was highly skeptical of Woodson until watching the game Saturday- he looked pretty darn good. But I still think it's Brohm, then Woodson.

If the Bears aren't drafting low enough for either one of those two, I'd just draft an OT and wait till next year. There's a huge drop-off, with maybe the only exception being Matt Ryan at BC.

Duh! Miami drafted John Beck last year. I'm an idiot. But here's a lesson to all you youngsters out there; don't draft QBs in the second round, especially when they're 42 years old, because when you suck the next year and you're in position to draft a potentially great QB, you won't be able to.

Oh, one more QB/2008 draft prediction. Over the next few weeks, and especially in February-April, you are going to hear a LOT about how Woodson adds an extra dimension because he is "athletic". Brian Brohm will be praised for his better decision-making skills. No word on whether Brohm runs better routes or is a "high motor guy", however.

:? :?:

John Beck went to BYU and went on mission, so he's 26 or 27 years old already, plus he's a rookie.

Plus we already had a great Mormon quarterback in Steve Young, and the odds that there's going to be another one are low.

Read in the SUn-Times today, how Angelo loves Matt Ryan.

At this point in the college football season, I haven't seen any senior that has come out and established that they are worth a top ten pick. One will go top ten because they always do but pretty much every hyped QB has failed to live up to expectations.

The most interesting QB out there is Chad Henne. He hasn't been great this year but Michigan QB's(besides Navarre) always find a way to be decent NFL QB's. He won't be a franchise QB but he can be solid. I think he would be a good pick late in the draft if still available.

I disagree. They have like 18 kids each so the law of averages is on their side.

Mel Kiper likes Matt Ryan too. He has him #1 amongst QBs. I am skeptical.

In a perfect world, the Bears wouldn't draft a QB this year, because no one is very good. They also need help at tackle, and there are four or five studs you can stick at left tackle and forget about for a decade. If they end up with a Sam Baker type player, I will be OK with that.

It's the magic underwear that makes them great.
