Yeah I was in line when mine ran out of coffee. Got another 4 pack on the way down from beyond the Cheddar Curtain tomorrow. One of my little hole in the wall places thinks he's getting his on Monday.

Binny's in Naperville had a limit of two 12 oz bottles of the regular BCBS. Weaksauce.

The coffee is the shit. Those are always hard to find.

As of now, I have:

8 - BCBS
2 - barleywine
1 - coffee
1 - 22oz Propietors
1 - 22 oz Vanilla Rye

I was only able to get 1 BCBS in Iowa City on Friday. I'll savor it.

Some of the stories about the bad behavior for this year's BCBS release have been pretty amusing to me. Apparently some guys convinced a store manager at the Wicker Park Walgreen's to sell them cases of the variants at midnight on Black Friday because the sign wasn't specific enough when it said the release was 12-2 PM.

It's a pity Vanilla Rye has gotten some middling reviews since the original vanilla was the best variant in the series IMO.

I tried BCS, Barleywine and Vanilla at the tapping last Wednesday I posted about. The Vanilla was whatever and would not order it again. Goose Island is genius in marketing this stuff as there's no way the beer lives up to the lines and lunatic hunting for. We drank a cask conditioned Zombie Dust that I thought was the best beer of the night.

10 more pages minimum, maybe 20, depending on how the racist/Klan meeting thread is going.

If that's true, then that's incredibly stupid. Why would Walgreen's care? They still made their money.

Because they could lose this product in the future if they go directly against what GI/distributor stated?

So the manager was in on it.

Zeph's story doesn't state that. He makes it sound like the manager was duped. But I wouldn't consider moving product in your store to be a fireable offense. Street dates are stupid enough, but now there are street times? Get your self-important bullshit out of here, beer snobs.

My take away as well.

But further enforces beer people are becoming just the worst.

Yes, they are. I don't do the whole waiting in the line thing. The longest line I've ever done was 20ish people.

The topic of Surly Darkness came up. I said that I got one, but I was going to trade it to my buddy for a 3 Floyd's Darklord, any year I want. He tells me not to do it, because the Surly will fetch more in a trade. I explained that I was doing this as a solid for my buddy, who was unable to get one. He has a very impressive stash of beer, and he always shares them with me. In fact, he will probably crack the Darkness when I am there, anyway.

At 8:50, an employee of Binny's announced that we could get 2 bottles of the BCBS, 1 coffee, 1 barleywine, and our choice of bomber. I told my buddy (different guy than the one with the huge stash, this guy is a bowling teammate) that I was going to get the Vanilla. This hipster doofus tells me not to do it. I should get the Coconut, because that will bring back more in a trade. I told him that I wasn't trading these, and that they were going under my bar to age, until my wife and I open them. I told him that I have 2 coconuts from last year, and my wife doesn't like coconut anyway. At this point, he finally shut the fuck up.

He must have told me ten times that he just finished working a 48 hour shift. He was also constantly exhaling his e-cig right into my face. I really wanted to give this guy a shot to the ribs.

The guy at Malloy's in Glen Ellyn started selling his allotment on Wednesday last year. Goose and the distributor were pissed. I suppose it's not a coincidence that their shipment showed up Friday afternoon, while an angry crowd waited outside in the cold.

The street time was advertised by the Walgreen's in question though. The guys who raided it knew what that advertised time was and manipulated the system on a technicality. Beer people are the worst, but the worst in question here were the raiders (one of whom has a reputation in the area for regularly pulling crap like this).

If you want run-of-the-mill bad behavior, there were also loads of reports about linejumping at the various locations people went. Again, if you want to say it's stupid to wait in line for beer in general you're right, but that doesn't justify individuals simply skipping to the front

I didn't see any poor behavior in either of the lines I waited, other than the doofus who wouldn't shut up. When I got to Naperville, my buddy Dan was about ten spots ahead of me. I asked everybody standing between us, if they were cool with me standing next to him in line while we waited, but I would go back to my spot, when they opened the doors. Everybody was cool with it.
