I think my favorite thing that happens on this show, just for my own amusement, is when Terry reports something authoritatively that "his guy" has told him and Dan reacts in such a depressed manner at the news like it really is going to happen the way Terry's "guy" has reported.

Mariah Carey butchered her Christmas songs at some appearance this week. Tanny mashed them up with that old guy (San-tee Claus is cahming to teerrrrrrrrrrrrr)

Edit: this song

No, quite the opposite. He said his guy said Trestman is not getting fired under any circumstance.

The Joe Spence/Mariah Carey mashup had me doubled over laughing as well.

Country bumpkin was Phil Simms and he was an insipid moron. I'm not even sure he's watched a Bears game all year.

As for Crawford - Bernsie is funny. Sounding like someone's grandfather describing 'that punk music'

Duh, we live in a social media world. Crawford is a big dude a recognizable one. If I was at a concert and Crawford was there, I'd notice him (although lets be honest - most kids a 'punk' shows aren't exactly sports fans). What Bernstein is implying is that perhaps Crawford was moshing or something.

Umm, it was at House of Blues downtown. If Corey Crawford was moshing at a concert at 9:30pm, there would be 20 videos of it on Vine, 50 tweets, 700 retweets and 100 instagram pics on line by 9:31pm.

As a veteran of many mosh pits, I'm gonna have to disagree about the whole recognizing Crawford in a pit and no one tweeted about it. The action is pretty fast and furious, you're being bounced around like a pinball. I seriously doubt in all of that scrum someone would recognize Crawford (unless he had his whole goalie gear on). Let alone be able to snap a photo in some dark as hell nightclub of it happening and for it to be any kind of image you could identify.

I think there is something to this theory. A big jock looking to whup some ass in a pit. Not unheard of. Kind of the norm, actually.

I want to know what's up with this story. The Blackhawks are visible people and the hockey world is very small. The truth should have gotten out by now. I mean, shit, how many Mike Richards/Jeff Carter/Joffrey Lupul cocaine misadventures were documented?

I disagree. I too have been in myriad pits - back when pits were real (early through late 80's hardcore shows) and not the Hot Topic laden mall kids acting like idiots. If Crawford was there, people would have seen him.

As for 'dark', I'd bet there were at least 300 people using their iPhones to take pictures and videos of the show. That happens at every show. House of Blues isn't that dark. I was at the Gaslight Anthem/Against Me show a few weeks ago at the Aragon, which is very dark, and every second person had their damn iPhone up in the air recording.

Crawford isn't really that big, is he? I mean he's essentially the size of me or Matt Forte.

It's not like Kyle Long or Laurence out there.

Listed at 6'2''/216, though he sure does look a lot smaller out of his pads, which are damn near Giguerian.

It's Brian Fallon - they cover EVERYTHING. That said, their encore was Baba O'Reilly.

No State of Love and Trust and none of the other tunes they cover (Changing of the Guards, Refugee, You Got Lucky, etc). Although my two favorite covers they've done live are I Hope You're Unhappy by Farside and Astro Zombies by The Misfits. Oh, and Brian's side band Horrible Crowes does a nice cover of Joey by Concrete Blonde and Teenage Dream by, yes, Katy Perry.

Are people really gonna stop and tweet about this shit at a rock show? Lame fucking audiences these days. Put the fucking phones away.

This show is classic Bernstein. Have little or no facts, but completely speculate.

So 'his guy' says Crawford is a goof.

That immediately means that Crawford punched a hobo or kicked a pregnant koala bear to injure his foot. Maybe the dude did fall. Maybe he got buzzed and tripped. Shit happens. 2-3 weeks is what, 8 games? Not the end of the world. Especially how the offense, in particular the second line, is on fire.

I don't see what's to get his panties in a bunch about over this. He's out two weeks, maybe not until after Christmas. Wasn't Bernstein's angst last year over Crawford being worn the hell out by playoff time?

What show was Crawford injured at? I hope it's some band where it would be embarassing to be injured in a pit.

Edit: Rise Against?  What a wuss!

boy just now [edit: 300-315 segment] dan brought up "the billboard guys" back from the old FIRE LOVIE!!!!! days, and to pull a gorilla monsoon "you could cut the electricity in here with a knife" ---- dan is CLEARLY proud of his role in shutting down "the billboard guys" because when they got on FOTSian airwaves huffing and puffing and pushing their chests out there, dan did the gavin-from-angel solution and decided to start raining on their parade via tax talk. bernstein always leaves the implication out there that "the billboard guys" were doing something shady because when dan started talking taxes and IRS and stuff and the guy "didn't know" and then "disappeared forever" shortly thereafter, welp, it seems like ONCE AGAIN the chicago sports landscape has been saved by the hero it both needs and deserves: dan "beerstain" bernstein. you're not putting up a billboard in HIS TOWN unless you have your taxes situation/s in check and mate (wow those words make me think raymont harris here, aka the one guy who dan went out of his way to say WAS ONE OF THE GOOD ONES without using that phrase, of course, cuz you know HE PLAYS CHESS. I DONT FEAR FOR MY DAUGHTER'S VIRGINITY WHEN RAYMONT IS OVER! WE PLAY *CHESS* FFS! HOW MANY BIG. BLACK. (WANGWHIPPING.) STUDS. PLAY CHESS?.... WITH MY FAMILY!!?"

that also reminds me that CH had a totally worthy signature quote today about dan being the one white guy that [other color/race] can all agree on. idk if it displaces my current signature quote cuz i think mine still has a point worth repeating, but it's in the "maybe"pile. this is important [discourse]... we'll talk about it with shelley.

and now at 3:13-3:14 who the fuck is this high pitched mike sounding motherfucker presumably-trolling bnb? he was bemoaning some point that was avowedly non-b&b endorsed and dan got really authoritative and proud and cut him off to get on the next caller who was entertaining the concept of another NFL franchise in chicago (#BringTheCardinalsHome coming soon no doubt. or how about the chicago rams? my uncle would dig it cuz he's been a mark ever since he saw the best uniforms in american sports history: the 67 rams' getup)

Guys, that Cameron Hughes Lot 555 can easily be on your rack for 13 years and still taste great. Some great juice!
