Wouldn't diffuse weakness be a good thing?

The irony, of course, being that Dan has been struggling with cognitive dissonance since the Bills game.

I've never seen the word "sclerotic" in my life.

What's wrong with him? He didn't used to write this way.

Is this a goof on The Score to see how far he can go with this stuff before somebody says "Hey, quit writing nonsense"?

 No, you are reading - and responding - correctly.

I believe Doc is onto something.

I tried to search for "sclerotic" on Bing. I have the SafeSearch on since I'm at work. Apparently Bing thinks "scl" is a prefix.

His use of 'sclerotic' is apt, if not entirely unnecessary.

(rigid; unresponsive; unwilling or unable to adapt)

One shrouds one's indolence in a labyrinthine dialect to mask the facile reiteration of that which is not only decidedly discernible to even the preponderantly obtuse, but also that which has been multitudinously postulated by even infrequent observers since the inaugural week and thenceforth.

Berns must have taken a general writing class and decided to go against every single recommendation.

I would call being a top 3 RB elite. I would call having the most yards from scrimmage over the past 7 seasons elite.

Tresty goes to the hospital after the game to see Marshall. He's a good guy. Hard to hate him.

It's pretty easy to hate him as a coach. Just watch the play calling.

He'd be a great neighbor but he is a horrible football coach.

forte is elite if only because he can do everything and do it well. He's one of the best receiving backs in the league, has average speed, he is a good blocker, he's ok running between the tackles... gets what's blocked usually.... and he's extremely durable and never has to come off the field. add it all up and the sum of the parts make him elite

This Dan Durkin guy agrees that Forte is not an elite RB.

Hey, what if I were to call in and cite the true definition of insanity? Would Bernstein allow that?

insanity
[in-san-i-tee] Spell Syllables
Examples Word Origin
noun, plural insanities.
1.
the condition of being insane; a derangement of the mind.
Synonyms: dementia, lunacy, madness, craziness, mania, aberration.
2.
Law. such unsoundness of mind as frees one from legal responsibility, as for committing a crime, or as signals one's lack of legal capacity, as for entering into a contractual agreement.
3.
Psychiatry. (formerly) psychosis.
4.
extreme foolishness; folly; senselessness; foolhardiness:
Trying to drive through that traffic would be pure insanity.
a foolish or senseless action, policy, statement, etc.:
We've heard decades of insanities in our political discourse.

I don't think of Forte as being elite either - just a very good all around player. I suppose it depends upon how you define elite. In my mind, an elite player is one who you must gameplan against. I highly doubt opposing coaches spend a great deal of time trying to figure a way to shut him down.

The B&B caller always amazes me. They know Bernstein by now. They know the reaction they're gonna get when they say "Mike Singletary should be the coach" or things of that nature. Yet they call anyway and say "Mike Singletary should be the coach." Why? I guess there's no answer. It's just amazing to me.
