the top players at that position always seem to be narcissistic

Complaining about Marshall is complaining about Bryant is complaining about Gordon is complaining about Jackson, etc

His teams never win and he wears out his welcome quickly.

He has made a career of putting up great statistics on horrible teams.

I don't care what he does in the bedroom. I don't remember him saying much when he played.

Right. And he was a total PITA in Oakland. I think this is true about WR's they are not all perfect guys.

You missed his Raider days and complaints about Trestman.

I do recall that when Trestman was hired here. I wasn't really paying attention to raider football back in 1996 or whenever the hell that was.

There's no way that they didn't know what they were getting in Marshall. Their biggest concern had to have been that his off the field (legal) problems would eclipse his on the field production- which hasn't happened. In terms of their lack of success, Brandon Marshall being a big baby is foreseeable and minuscule compared to their other obvious deficiencies.

They knew he was a three year rental.

They will regret if they bring him back next year.

believe that the day after the super bowl, instead of celebrating, he told the world he should have been mvp and did not win it because he is black

Those were the racist 1980s. We've come a long way.

Now, if it's even between a black and a white player, there is no way they'd give the Super Bowl MVP to the white player. I'm proud of that progress.

What was the last team to win a Super Bowl with a Top 2 or 3 Wide Receiver?

Colts? Soon to be a decade ago.

And before that? The Rams?

Wasn't Colston a top 3 receiver the year the Saints won it? Jennings was a top 3 receiver when the Packers won it.

I know the Patriots didn't win the Super Bowl when they went 16-0 but Moss had the best WR year ever that season. 25 TDs.

Bottom line, you need a great receiver.

While you can argue Colston and Jennings, I can list the past 20 years of Super Bowl champions.

Trust me...you don't want me to.

Usually the top 2 or 3 receivers are such because they have a HOF QB. So that's more important.

Look at how Jennings has sucked since he went to the Vikings.

Doesn't that hurt your argument more?

Now suddenly teams have a HOF QB and a Top 3 WR and still cannot win Super Bowls?

Twice. Trestman got fired in SF after two years in the 90's as well. IIRC it was because he couldn't communicate with his players (Rice & Young).

Marshall has not played well this season, but I have a difficult blaming him for the issues vs. the Cutler turnovers, the defensive play and scheme, and Trestman's lack of leadership.

No. HOF QBs can make good WRs great. They can't make bad or average receivers great.

Bad QBs can make good WRs average or even bad.
