Ditka responds when people ask him about what he thinks about things. You might not like Ditkas thoughts, but he has them.

There is no reason to think Rose has a thought or is expressing an opnion.

To think he is going to wear that T shirt and then have no comment to reporters and not even be available to speak? I really just wish he would grow up on many levels.

And lets also never forget part of the reason we have this version of Rose is Reinsdorf's amazing loyalty to employees, namely BJ Armstrong.

Jerry doesnt hate this situation at all, this is where he thrives. He loved being the person that his ex star talked to, like when he did deals with Jordan directly.

Getting Rose back to where he was or close at this point, gives the Bulls a chance to win a title, so Jerry will do anything to make nice with the Rose camp to appease them at this point. Not sure they could have done anymore for the guy as an organization. Its what he should do and all he can do.

2017, Rose has an expiring deal. he will be 27. Look for them to move that deal to LA that year.

The situation is one that needs constant reinforcement, but is calm and damn fucking weird! The goal of winning an NBA ring is still there for the organization and sometimes for the Rose camp.

None, that is part of the problem. When they hired Pax to be the GM after passing over the Asst GM, BJ Armstrong, that sting hasnt left BJ and is a huge part of the Rose problem.

BJ chose to sell his soul to Jerry and if you do that, he owns you. when I say 'Sell your soul" , I mean work for him without a contract or at best an annual deal. You work for him under a basic trust of you are loyal to him, he will take of you unless he doesnt want to. At the same time jerry has done many good things for people he has left many people hanging too.

But we digress from the issue that if the Scholar D Rose wants to start having and expressing thoughts, I would like them to be about basketball first before he poses as a weak ass civil leader after some guy his brother knew asked him to wear it.

The notion that the majority of Rose's critics would "approve" of Rose wearing the t-shirt if he had spoken with reporters after the game is ludicrous.

If Rose had commented on the Garner situation, his attackers would have labeled his statements inarticulate, stupid, uninformed or some combination thereof.

The "issue" of Rose's silence is thus nothing more than a red herring deployed by those who simply disapprove of his politics.

Chicago Bulls All-Star point guard Derrick Rose has donated $1 million dollars to a Chicago Charity by the name of “After School Matters“. This Chicago Charity creates out of school opportunities for Chicago’s youth such as apprenticeships.

This charity hits close to home as Derrick Rose himself grew up in Englewood in Chicago, and has previously openly talked about empowering Chicago’s youth and stopping violence in Chicago.

The gift is the largest ever from the three-time NBA All-Star and is coming from him personally, the organization said.

THE BIGGEST CONTRIBUTION EVER?! It’s great for NBA stars like Derrick Rose to show that they care about their community.

Rose said in a statement “To have a strong community of people who believe in your potential can make all the difference in the world,So many people have invested in me and I want to do the same for Chicago’s teens.”

Rose who is coming off two knee injuries that have forced him to miss a big chunk of two NBA seasons, is looking to come back to contribute to Chicago and compete in the east. Even when he’s on the sidelines, Rose knows how to contribute to his community, and he’s not the only one. Joakim Noah, another Chicago Bull’s star has spoken out about the violence in Chicago, even contributing through a charity of his own the Noah’s Arc Foundation. Now a days, professional athletes have to take a closer look at their communities and how they can contribute, because of how big of an impact they can truly make.

Hopefully, the efforts of Derrick Rose and other stars spark a movement around the league, to donate time and money to charities that can truly help people.

My point remains: Rose's critics would attack him whether he spoke or not. For most of them, the issue isn't his silence; it's his politics.

The truth of this statement is underscored by the typical reactionary response to athletes or artists whenever they publicly support a progressive cause. "Shut up and play" is typically the kneejerk reaction of many on the right to left-leaning celebrities. The cry for Rose to say more now thus seems a bit ironic.
