The "we suck less" argument sure can be entertaining.

Yes, that's the one.
That's like making fun of someone for only sleeping with one supermodel.

Not really.

Its just pointing out where the White Sox reside in baseball history

I'm sure those Cubbie attendance championship videos keep you warm in the cold, cold days of January!

I didnt say anything about The Cubs. They are even worse than the White Sox historically

It's infinitely more than the only other team in the city here in the last 97 years.

But you're obviously a well known Cub fan, so what is your point? Wanna talk shit on behalf of Yankee and Cardinal fans?

In the era of television, where one's team has never actually graced the screen in a World Series game broadcast, perhaps one shouldn't throw stones.

And to think the closest Cubbie team to almost make it was filled with military rejects.

Actually it's two. But neither involved the Cubbies.

Go Cubs Go!

I also like the Yankees, but no.

Im not talking on behalf of anyone. Im just pointing out how bad the White Sox are and have been in the last century.

If being better than the worst team in pro sports is good enough for you, that's cool.

Actually, I was just thinking the same thing.

You'd think a team that has gone 1 for its last 97 wouldnt be so cocky, but I guess having such a bad team across town makes the expectations go down considerably.

I don't really care what the Sox did in the 60s. I care what they have done since the 90s.

I agree, the White Sox have not been that good historically. Still not sure what your point is.

Why not the 80's?

Anyway, the Cubs pre 60's record seems to be relevant to many though.

I agree in a way. I can only really claim 29 years of fandom and waiting

That is my point.

Many here would disagree.

Well, all of a sudden it feels pretty good to be a Bears fan. Historically, we've been pretty amazing.

Well, either history matters or it doesnt. It's your choice. If you dont care what happened before the 90's than the Cubs are just a normal average team that makes the playoffs every 5 or 6 years.

Maybe you've never referenced the Cub drought.

I was too young. I probably cared more about the food than the game until the 90s.

Still though, when you win a title within the past 10 years, you don't really care you were bad before. Look at the Hawks or the Bulls.

The Cubs have never won a title in your lifetime though. That is the difference. Every Cubs fan you know has the same shared experience. I'd have to go to a grade school to find a Sox fan who hasn't been alive for a title.

RPB this will not end well for you. Brick is now strengthened from his association with the CSFMB clan. You are opening up a pandora's box by messing with him.

This is basically the whole argument in a nutshell. Good job by your Rick.

Either history matters or it doesnt, Rick. It cant matter only when you want it to.

Just be honest like FF and admit they've been awful for the most part.

Why is it always so black and white with you? There can be more than two options.

When did I say they were awful? I think they've been about average if you look at overall record. If we are judging just by titles then yeah, awful is appropriate.

But I agree with Rick that outside of our lifetimes, I dont see why anyone would care about past history.

No it's not. This is even sillier than when BRick tries to make it black and white. There's a huge difference between 1920 and 1995. I don't think that's hard to get.

Are we seeing the birth of Obtuse Bryan right now also?
