I think it was a crank phone and he had to ask the operator for "Klondike-6767".

It was meant to contradict itself. That said, I'm no Curious Hair so you can't reasonably expect actual greatness in a show write-up.

Here's some lyrics to help make things better.

A just machine to make big decisions
Programmed by fellows with compassion and vision
We'll be clean when their work is done
We'll be eternally free, yes, and eternally young

What a beautiful world this will be
What a glorious time to be free
What a beautiful world this will be
What a glorious time to be free

Not only that but they had to give him a $30M signing bonus and assume a bad contract. Even after all of that they still had to sweat it out.

Chris Tannehill is a douche...

NIU Dave called in, said hello and wished the guys happy holidays, then was immediatley shotgunned...

Another guy called in said he would like to speak about the draft, immediately shotgunned...

What a toolbox

I've only listened between transition and 230 now listening between 5-6pm. They're pretty goofy. Drinkiny going in on Bernsy. Funny. The shotgunning was funny cluv, stop being pissy.

Correct.

Theo, a guy who he worked with to win before, is now inviting him to try to win with him again. I like to think being a part of another historic opportunity doesn't hurt either, but perhaps not.

Giants offered the same 6 years at $26 mil per year (basically) but then tacked on a 7th year at a 50% pay cut: 7 yrs/$168 mil ($24 mil per season)

So J Lester's gambling that he will (i) still be a viable MLB pitcher in 2021 and (ii) he'll get offered more than $13 mil to pitch in 2021.
He might've also been looking at the prospect of getting multi-year deal at age 37 on opening day vs age 38 on opening day for his next contract.

Also, J Lester's going to be the undisputed ace of the staph-infection at Wrigley. Whereas on the Giants he'd be #2 behind Bumgarner.

B&B have long contended that it is a bad idea to give long term, big money contracts to players on the wrong side of 30. Why is this one good in their world?

Really. Smart. People.

Listen. The Cubs told you this is what they're going to do. Therefore, you should abrogate all journalistic responsibilities like you always do whenever someone tells you what they're going to do.

they're going to say that the pitching market has changed. Dan is on record as being unsure of whether it was a good idea or not.

It's not just that. Everything. has. been. clearly. and. properly. explained. If you don't understand that Theo is smarter than you by now, I don't know what to tell you. This man has created a baseball development machine. It has already produced a complete team of All-Stars and is only getting better. All that's left is the trivial matter of winning and it's gonna happen. I don't expect Theo to be here much longer. When they win the World Series, he'll probably pack up and say, "That's it. My work here is done." And he may not stay in baseball. This is a man who can do anything. He might become a professor at Harvard or a Supreme Court justice. He has so many interests. He could become a craft brewer or a wine negociant. Perhaps a painter or sculptor. He may even want to run for president. He's a hard man to get to know. Very guarded. But I know people who know him better than most and they like him even more than I do.

Uh, yeah, uh, I, I, I, that sounds about right. I think so too.

The man who spouted it and all the idiots calling in to agree with it.

Like dumbass Sal who said something like:

Dat guy before me was jus' negative like some kinda blob or sumthin'. I'm not even a Cubs fan (Doesn't matter.), but I can see what dis Epstein is doin' has never been done. Da Cubs have never been good except like you guys said in a spasm here and dere, but now dey gonna be good every year and it's all because of the system dat Theo put in.
