Never tried this show, thought it wouldn't appeal to me. Then noticed that it was getting big ratings this year so figured maybe I shouldn't have been so quick to write it off.

Started binge watching it on netflix this week, I'm 5 episodes into season 1. Damn this show is GOOD!

I'm at the point now where I'm just assuming every person who walks into that house is ghost except the family living there. Thought the black security guard (from Kick Ass) was a ghost, but apparently I was wrong about that.

So does this show continue to excel through the rest of season 1? How are the other seasons? The first two are on netflix.

season one was the bomb.

season two was pretty good.

season 3 has been weird. its like its really well done, but the story is weak and the charm just isnt there. great concept, but its missing its mark a little

Season one was really good. Season 2 is alright...kinda boring. Season 3 was creepy at the beginning but the last 3 episodes have been meh.

i posted my thread when i first saw season 1. it was great. its been steady decline since then. the first season was creepy... and it was just about dead people.

this new season is about fucked up living people, which you would think would make it badass, but they are portraying the freaks as normal people on the inside and it totally ruins the suspense. i dont want to watch a horror flick about normal people that just happen to have birth defects. i want fucked up shit.

Finished season 1, liked it a lot. But, about half way through found myself getting annoyed at the stupidity of the family. A simple conversation could've resulted in them leaving the house for about 4 episodes before it became too late.

I'm 6 episodes into season 2, I'm enjoying it, but it is so ridiculously over the top that its beyond ludicrous....alien abductions, the devil, evil nazi doctor war criminal modeled after Mengele doing human experiments, a serial killer on the loose, jessica lange hamming it up for the Emmys.

I do love how they have actors return from season to season to play different roles. That's cool. I gave Lange shit, but she is great on the show. Love her nun character...started out hating her, now I'm starting to root for her. Of course, I'd probably root for anyone who was taking on a Nazi.

Cromwell is sensational as well. And whoever the actress is who plays Sister mary Eunice is doing a great job as well. Actually, love all the acting on the show.

Finished season 2. Gotta say, as over the top and ridiculous as it was, there wasn't a minute of it that I wasn't thoroughly entertained.

Now on to season 3.

How bad is Season 3? Is it even worth watching? I assume that i can watch season 4 without having seen season 3 based on the show format from season to season.

I forgot there were four seasons...d'oh.

I did not like season 3 - Coven much at all. It started out o.k., but then got dumb. Season 4 is super creepy for the first 3-4 episodes, but we have yet to watch the last two. Losing interest once again.

Finished up Season 3. You guys were pretty much right on the money, it sucked. Started out interesting and then quickly went downhill. Absolutely no character development. They must really hate that one girl as much as the fans do cause she disappeared for about half the first season and then in season 4 she looked like she would be the main character only to completely disappear for the entire final 2/3 of the season.

everyone dying and coming back to life was stupid. Kathy Bates was interesting and they totally gave up on that storyline.

This current season it's been on in my house. My GF daughter likes it. I thought it started out ok...interesting cast and characters, but it lost me and finding the storyline weak. Doogie Houser nailing the twins is fun, but insanely obsessed with manequin with an annoying name like Marjorie? lame.

agreed, that was a very unsatisfying finish to the season. this season had gained a lot of momentum with me during the second half, and i had high hopes for a great finale such as the one they had for Asylum. Freakshow had a real chance to move up in the rankings for me, but that finale leaves my standings as:

1. Season 1 - Murder House
2. Season 2 - Asylum
3. Season 4 - Freakshow
4. Season 3 - Coven

i still like the idea behind this show and look forward to future seasons, even without Jessica Lange. This was not a great season for her i dont think.

Season 5 starts tonight, anyone going to watch?

I haven't seen season 4 yet, is it even worth watching? I asked the same thing about season 3 and you guys told me not to watch it but I did anyway and you guys were right.

wow - they didn't hold back on episode one of the new season, pretty disturbing. it has definitely piqued my interest more than the last couple of years. pretty hardcore imagery, even by FX standards, definitely needed to make sure the kids were tucked safely in to bed while i was watching this show, it was pretty nightmarish.

Cool. It's on my DVR. I've skipped the last couple seasons, but will give this one a shot.

I've seen every episode since the very first.
I was disappointed by this one.
It seems like they've decided to replace intrigue and tension with graphic gore and violence.
I'll give it another week to see where it goes.

season one will always be hard to match because it was so new and nerve-wracking and set the bar high because we didn't know what the hell it was all about. this first episode of hotel was certainly unsettling, but you are right about the violence. season one was unsettling based on what you couldn't see whereas this show was due to what you COULD see.
