I don't know what irritates me more: Dan using his "sources" to say absolutely nothing of consequence, as in this case, or Dan using his sources to validate and present as fact his dumbass opinions, "Bulls Management doesn't like Derrick Rose anymore".

Edit: Ooo I forgot one: Dan smugly says exactly what team upper management wants him to say without questioning a bit of it, shouts down / questions the intelligence of anyone who disagrees with any of it. This is usually Cubs "sources".

Next segment he gets OUTRAGED! by team reporters chuckling at a funny comment a player or coach made in the locker room because Dan has JOURNALISTIC ETHICS!!!!!

Perhaps the story here may be expanding on how any executives could rationalize the status quo in the face of six losses in eight games, a bumbling coach, and an offensive coordinator who talks shit to the media about the expensive quarterback and then cries about it. I don't have any dogs in this fight, but I cannot see how they bring this staff back next year and expect fans not to turn. I thought the tipping point was the coach, OC, and QB ALL saying they wish they had a better run/pass balance, when THEY ARE THE ONES who control that. Then this shit happens. The problem is that it's perfectly believable that there's dissension among the McClaskeys here, but Dan has done so much hedging on everything he reports that it's nothing new here.



That was a Scott Pioli thing, which means it's also probably a Bill Belichick thing. I wouldn't trust the Bears to bug their whole facility. They'd either balk at the wiring costs or install it wrong and cause feedback in every room.

It'd all be a lot more palatable if Bernstein acknowledged he's just a shock jock who may talk to some people, and not half-assed 'report' stuff in the serious voice and treating that (and Terry's guy) as gospel.

I imagine it was a matter of Biggsy going up to him and saying "I know you were the source and I have backing on it. I will be writing about it tomorrow and I would like comment from you."

That basically forced his hand to admit it to the organization before it went public.
