I think the real story here is that they are charging $8 for what is essentially a glass of Skol (if you believe the evil class action attorneys) with a few ice cubes. You could get a an entire 5th and a bag of ice for the same price over by Jewel.

Cheap vodka aficionado from way back. You can take the shittiest generic vodka in a plastic bottle, run it through a Brita filter a few times, and end up with Grey Goose or whatever the premium brand of the day is. Pour it into a Ice Mountain bottle, smuggle it into even the finest restaurant in the inside pocket of your sport jacket, order a $1 glass of ice and you've got yourself a premium cocktail.

making a mistake taking the wife to upscale restaurants given the almost certain odds that divorce is just around the corner for any CSFMB member. Taking them to McD's and giving them their choice of 3 items (incl drink) from the dollar menu establishes a more reasonable "lifestyle" to which they've become accustomed.

i believe they are charging you $1 for the rocks glass...ie it's bigger. Oddly, some places charge extra for ordering a drink up. So go figure.
