more telling was that cutler was in the 4th quarter with 0.8 fantasy points (94yds 3INT) before that garbage time TD to alshon prolly gave a few thousand people fantasy football playoffs wins with the law of averages going on.

this caller to les just displayed DA FIRE AND DA PASHIN giving it to jay saying HE DOESNT CARE ABOUT THIS FOOTBALL TEAM! HE CARES ABOUT HIS WIFE, WHO IS PRETTY HOT I HAVE TO ADMIT, AND YOU KNOW WHAT WE SHOULD CALL HIM?

les (ever the crappy straight man): ... [not given time to answer]

caller: "SMOKIN JAY CUTLER! ALL HE DOES IT SIT AROUND AND SMOKE CIGARETTES ALL DAY AND THAT'S WHY HE'S SMOKIN JAY CUTLER!"

so yeah, TLDR = internet memes don't necessarily translate well to the radio airwaves. he might not be smoking in this picture but IMO this is still the best one of the jay cutler memes:

(btw i was born in 1980 so i was in junior-high/high-school in the 90s and i remember when they used to have it where you could spend an extra $5-10 to get the laserbeams behind your yearbook picture for.....whatever reason. hey it was the 90s and i forget if that's when we had those "rad" sunglasses or if it was the late 80s? hmmmm i found the sunglasses in question and they're listed as 80s:

(clearly i'm bitter because my family was so poor we couldn't pay the extra $5-10 for the laser background)

QB rating has now fallen below 90 for the year, which keeps his streak alive. Remarkably consistent in his mediocrity.

I realize the coaching blows.
I realize the defense blows.

Are we done saying Cutler is a good quarterback?

What rational person thinks Jay is a good QB? I still cant believe this Bears regime made Jay the highest paid player in the NFL. They should all be fired for that.

Still going to post about Jay's career year, Nas? Early on I thought the defense was the biggest problem with this team. Now I'm leaning towards Cutler being one of the biggest problems with this team.

Another scoreless half followed by garbage time stats. He's actually not bad when the other team stops trying.

I believe 8 touchdowns and ONLY 2 interceptions to go along with a 98 QB rating puts him in the MVP conversation. He's on pace to throw 42 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. I wonder how great this offense and team would be if his favorite targets were healthy.

The contrast between Cutler and Brees could not have been any more apparent. Every one of Brees's throws (even those on the run) hit the receiver in stride or placed where only the receiver could catch it. Cutler's throws, even to wide open receivers, were either low, behind the receiver, or thrown too hard.

Brees is an all-time great; Cutler is an all-time bust, considering they are being paid about the same this year.

Not at first. The Saints (and Brees) were terrible coming out of the gate. It wasn't until late in the 1st quarter that they started moving the ball. They had a couple of nice screens, but pretty much nothing else early on.

Point being that a team with better coaching and a better QB jumps out to a lead against the Saints last night, and maybe wins the game. At the very least, they keep it close and are in it until the end.

I wouldn't say they were terrible...Brees did lose the grip on the wet ball a couple times, and Toon lost a fumble near the goal line which would have been another TD for the Saints. But I'm sure they never felt threatened.

I guess it turns out that the Bears didn't let the reporters know that Cutler was at the podium to take questions, so everybody was still in the locker room.

I don't know what's funnier--the idea that the media didn't want to talk to Cutler or the notion that the Bears were too afraid to let the media talk to Cutler.

What an organIzation.

That's what I saw guys like Hoge reporting last night - that the Bears usually announce in the locker room when Cutler goes to the podium but they didn't last night.

But, then, I saw a clip of Garza being interviewed and you can very clearly hear someone yelling, "Cutler is at the podium".

If it isn't clear, we converted our bet to a donation to autismspeaks.org. At least someone benefited from Cutler this year!

In the end Trestman sucking as a play caller wasn't an awful thing.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000445402/article/charles-tillman-bears-players-still-have-faith-in-cutler?campaign=Twitter_atl

Jay Cutler's benching has led to a new round of blustering surrounding the Chicago Bears and their quarterback.

Speaking on NFL Network's NFL AM on Thursday, veteran corner Charles Tillman defended Cutler's leadership in the locker room.

"I think guys still have faith," the 12th-year pro said of his former starting quarterback. "I mean ultimately, we all have good seasons, we all have bad seasons. I've had bad seasons. I think 2005, I had a pretty bad season and my teammates they stuck with me. But ultimately they gave me their respect, and I think as a teammate that's kind of what we still have to do is still give him our respect. I know it probably didn't turn out the way he wanted, but he's still a teammate."

Cutler's poor play this season led to a self-inflicted brouhaha last week when offensive coordinator Aaron Kromer criticized the quarterback to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, leading to a firestorm of controversy.

Tillman said "stuff happens" during disappointing years, but said he forgave Kromer for his comments.

"I think we haven't played to our expectations this year and I don't have a problem with what he said, good or bad and he knew he made a mistake and ultimately that mistake was going out of family talking to media," Tillman said.

It's interesting to hear Tillman continue the trend of Bears defending Kromer in "he messed up, but we forgive him" responses. Few have backed Cutler in a similar fashion.

Tillman declined to comment on whether Marc Trestman or others should be brought back next year, but said that all Bears players should be auditioning for jobs.

"This is when you find out what you have and it's not just about Trestman being here or not, it's about the 52 or 53 guys putting out good films out there, because there are 32 teams out there," he said. "You want to put game film for those teams, whether he's here or not that's not the point. It's putting on good games on that resume. That's has nothing to do with the coaches, that's on the players."

Trestman, it turns out, didn't want to see any more film on Cutler.

Without question.

He clearly is more than capable of comporting himself appropriately on and off the field.

Nas bet during the season that Jay Cutler would have at least 40 touchdowns(passing but realistically even total touchdowns ended up not being close) for $100. We then converted it to a charity bet to autismspeaks.org in honor of your huge Cutler fandom!
