Usually when you see a post on Facebook or Twitter that says someone is getting traded or fired, its always best to check and see if its getting reported or verified in other places. Other than CBS sports, is anyone else even trying to report or prove Bernstein's story?

According to Dan Bernstein of WSCR in Chicago, Bears ownership met in the wake of Monday night’s 31-15 home loss to the Saints. Per Bernstein, the team “likely” will fold the tents on the Trestman regime. It’s not known whether the Bears also will be parting ways with the man who hired Trestman, G.M. Phil Emery.

If this it's true, it's Bernstein's first. he pretends to be a reporter - he never did any reporting on Penn State ( he repeated what others did), his work on concussions was from others - so let's see if he actually has a source. And I'd like ton hear the real reporters on this - a Brad Biggs, for example - on what they are hearing. Interesting they are not saying anything.

Maybe Bernstein will actually go to a game now - versus his skybox visits with his kids.

This isn't a breaking story. A breaking story would be verifiable within 24 or so hours with either action or a statement from the team. This is merely speculation.

Sometimes I think out loud when I am with my friends just to kind of get a sounding board about what I might do. That doesn't mean I am going to do it.

Dan isn't reporting anything concrete, and it's ridiculous that it's being regarded as such.

Didn't Captain Unfunny himself Abbattacola "break" some story few months back that the Score ran with and reported as fact that later turned out as only Abbattacola guessing?

Dan is not a journalist. He never was a journalist. His claims of having once been a "reporter" become glorified in light of his past role with the radio station and the evolution of that role. Dan holds to none of the principles or ethical tenets of being a journalist, he's little different than most of the media blowholes who have a microphone and sense of self-importance other than his particular brand of bigotry. Like the previous FOTS he is creeping towards creating news or being the news at the expense of credibility. Being a wingnut with his one good story is worth trading the relative anonymity and obscurity of being another radio sports talk host. Unlike the rest of the station's hosts who have been actual journalists or reporters, or have worked television or actually played the game professionally, or even dabble as pseudo-performers, this is Dan's only claim to fame.

Now Ranger is reporting that "Our very own Dan Bernstein is reporting that Marc Trestman will be fired at the end of the season."

Not using the word "likely". I'm sure Dan hears him and doesn't correct him.

Typical Score. They're misreporting their own report.

But so is Bernstein. "Likely" on twitter. "He's gone for sure" on the air. Same with Boers. "I know he's gone."

Dan just said that Terry had it first.

He (Dan) is getting credit for it because he Tweeted it but Terry is actually the one that had it earlier.

I thought Dan said it first on the air and Terry rubber stamped it by saying "Yeah, I got that too." But I only started listening at 3pm yesterday. That's when I heard that. You guys had said that they said it earlier. So did Terry say it first?

Looks like Dan wants to put this on Terry. Or at least make sure he gets half the blame if they get exposed for the lie. Which they won't. Cuz he will be fired.
