If he was going back to score then why sit out the non compete clause?

He could team up with Dahl.

That kid giggling at every sentence the Stever utters can't be a long term solution.

I think he just wanted to be off for 7 months and come back after the holidays.

Maybe it won't be a 3 man booth like COF suggested. Maybe Mannelly just had a 6 month tryout contract and they'll tell him to go.

I can see Mac with Dahl on the big 890, or on WGN. There has been lots of chatter about WGN adding more sports programming. I can see Kap & Mac in the evenings.

No way Mac does evenings. 1. He wouldn't want to work that shift. 2. Doesn't pay as well as what he turned down at the Score.

the fact b&b still almost daily sneak a damaaaneil comment in and that he made quote of the year has me guessing it could be with the score. typicaly bernstein procedure would be to never mention competition

Good point about Bernstein. Also, the Spiegel & Mannelly show is structurally the same as Mac & Spiegel, as if Mac is just on another long sabbatical.

They've gotta know that with weak ratings even in football season, they're going to need Mac back to get them through the winter with some hockey content.

Yup. Bernstein knew it was really never a dead issue, just in break.

Leary on the other hand told Mac 'dont let the door hit ya'....Leary leary leary

Bernstein went on an extended public slurping of management when it signed Mannely including thinly veiled praise for getting rid of Mc Neil. I think we need to revisit that thread because it was pretty strong stuff.

Anyway, Mc Neil told us he was going to take extended leave through the summer. Summer went in to winter.

I'm surprised Dan would come back to take mid days.

This is the last piece to the Bernstein coronation at the Score. All borders have been secured and the barbarians have been pacified.

I don't like this. I don't like this at all.

Bernstein won this battle years ago. Mac is Saddam circa 2005.

That is not true. Bernstein knows the results the last time they went head to head. Don't think for a second that B and B didn't fear Mc Neil returning to a drive time slot.

Seems to me he was headed to The Game, but WGN is going to try a different strategy and he will be there in the new year for a big launch.

There is literally no other explanation of what he was doing unless it was going to The Game.

Right. I still think it was gonna be THE GAME. And he was gonna start right about now as this is the 6 week point that he announced. He was gonna sub for the regulars for the holidays and then they'd announce him getting the afternoon show full time.

The Game went under. Mac was like... He quickly called Mitch and got back to THE SCORE. Mitch loves him. It was shocking they even gave him an offer after his problems. That's proof that Mitch loves him.

So he'll be back after the new year bugging Bernstein and getting revenge on Larry for his comments.

Larry:

Mac:

Larry: I was just kidding, Mac. I love you. You know that.

Mac: Shut the fuck up.

Larry:

I don't think WGN is done with wanting a full time sports station. I think they just saw that the current version of The Game was poorly executed and a new strategy is in place.

You forgot part of the conversation Beardown.

Mitch: Sure Mac we'd love to have you back on middays, but we hired the snapper. We can only pay you the difference between your old recession contract and what we pay snapper.

Mac: I wont get out of bed for less that $200k

Mitch: Nighty Night Mac.

Mac:  :(

The next day.....

Mac: I'll take it.

It would be Zim negotiating. But you're probably right.I wouldn't be surprised if it was 50k less, per year, than that offer 6 months ago. Zim is like that and he would have all the leverage if Mac came back to him begging.

Since I am losing the Game in a few weeks, it would line up nicely if Danny comes back in the New Year.

They're as "tight" as Beardown's binoculars-in-the-bushes reach.

There's no way he's going back to WSCR right now. Makes no sense.

I'd put the likelihood at -

1. WGN
2. WLS
3. Something weird
4. WSCR

I'll say...

1. WSCR

2. Something weird.

No other options.

1. Crawling back to SCR
2. Mad Dog on Sirius XM

Only two options left
